Day 1 (April 21, 2002).-MK
I had the most wonderful day that I have ever had at Disney this day. We (DH, DD, sister-in-law, and I) got there around 10:00 AM. Folding the stroller for the tram and putting the stroller on the monorail was very stressful especially in the heat (I hope to stay at a monorail resort on the next trip). It was so hot and quite crowded this day. My daughter was very crabby (probably still exhausted from trip down and Daytona fiasco). We got a picture on Main Street but DD (McKenzie) was crying in it. I bought it anyway. I had to. We never made it back to MK :-(
We went straight to get FP for Pooh. We rode Dumbo (20 min. wait). We rode Small World with little wait(daughter LOVED that). We rode Pooh (thought it was a little fast and busy for little ones. I hardly caught everything). Got FP for Peter Pan. Rode the train around the park. Loved this. I got teary eyed and sentimental about being here with my daughter on both the monorail and the train. Made our FP for Peter Pan. My daughter fell asleep on this. We put her in her stroller and she slept for like 2 1/2 hours. We went into Cosmic Rays for lunch. LOVED THIS PLACE!!! It was wonderful.
Husband and sister in law rode Alien and Space Mountain. I wanted to shop on MainStreet and I lucked out and caught the start of the parade while I was there. My daughter woke up after like 3 floats though (COMPLETELY FREAKED OUT) and REALLY wanted a balloon. There are no balloons during the parade. I tried to calm her.
After the parade I tried desperately to get her 2 balloons (metallic and purple) before my 4:10 PS at Crystal Palace. Eyore visited first. Daughter was NOT friendly. This continued though Tigger and Pooh although we did get good pictures. Then I was filling out a comment card (so that I could rave about Jack {our server}), but Eyore came around and made it very clear that he wanted me to rave about him. I wrote Eyore was wonderful. He patted my head. After he left I wanted to rave about Jack too and I tried to write Eyore and Jack were wonderful. Eyore noticed and I tried to explain but he was not happy with me. He made me write over the whole card that Eyore is the best of all.
I was SO SURPRISED becacause my husband just got the biggest kick out of it, and he still cant stop talking about it. Sometimes he acts so macho and so many times I have had to talk him into things that he eventually liked, but I never dreamed that he would be so capable of loving stuff like this. The man never ceases to amaze me. He is so wonderful.
We did Hall of Presidents (DD almost fell asleep again) while waiting for the FP for Haunted Mansion. Then we saw Country Bear Jamboree (longer than I remember). We picked out spot on the steps of Country Bear for Spectro. Watched that (Loved it), but by then ..nothing would console my cranky husband and sister in law so I thought it best to leave before the fireworks to beat the rush (I regret this). We took the long stressful trek back to the car and then onto the hotel. I had a WONDERFUL day. McKenzie didnt even do bad. Her dad and aunt were not the best companions though.
We returned to the Hotel to find out that my mother in law, great aunt and other sister-in-law had shopped at a flea market all day (yawn!).
I missed so much here and really needed more time. There just is not enough time .SO SAD! I love Magic Kingdom. I just wish that I had had enough time to do it justice. I don't see anyway that I would ever find a way to do this park in one day and be satisfied. ahhhhh. It was magical though.
