Trip to NYC with 6 month old baby

Has anyone visited NYC with a infant? What can I expect. Funny how you never notice strollers in the city only at the parks. What about traveling by taxi or even the subway. Your thoughts on this everyone.

We know we want to go to central park and visit the zoo.

We lived in the city when our kids were babies. We traveled by subway frequently, with a lightweight stroller when the older girl was a baby and later with a double stroller. It's doable.
