What is the current procedure for Olaf M&G? IF there is a FP, is this connected? If no FP...guessing heading first thing is the way to go (on non-EMH day)?

RSR...is the FP machine still in front of Its tough to be a bug? If so, do the rope drop crew split into two separate escorts? Is it possible for one family member to head to grab FP and then quickly meet up with the group in line at RSR? Is this considered line jumping? I recall at WDW, there were CM stationed at TSMM to prevent this sort of behavior.

...and guessing that it is probably best to split up RSR and Olaf into two separate non-EMH rope drop days? The only problem for that, is it will prevent us from the using our MM-DL day (going T, W, R).

After RSR or Olaf, we were planning on riding TSMM until the line is prohibitive. We love that ride!

So...my priorities for DCA for this busy week are RSR, Olaf, and TSMM...trying to achieve this in 1-2 mornings with minimal wait. We have hoppers, so if there is a better time of day to do these, great, but I am not holding my breath.

Thanks!

When are you going to DL and DCA?

This is the most recent info I have found on Olaf

Read through and you'll find out the most recent info as of about a week ago.

I do believe the FP's for RSR are still in the same place. The rope drop crowd generally heads to RSR. I feel having a family member get FP's for your group and then pass their way through the line to meet up with you is inconsiderate to others. Another option is for the one getting the FP's to then go through the single rider line. If your focus is to to ride RSR as a group, all of you need to go straight to RSR and ride. Then go pull your FP's for later in the day or evening.

I would go ride RSR as a group. After riding RSR, split up and have someone go for RSR FP's and the rest of you go for an Olaf beeper. This way you can meet up as you're waiting for Olaf's meet and greet. I don't see why you couldn't do both RSR and Olaf on the same day. Especially since you're going on weekdays. This should open your schedule up for an MM-DL.

Good luck.

We will be there on Thursday-Tuesday and have similar plans. You think crowds will be that bad? We plan to do RSR and Olaf on two different mornings. Our RSR plan is for my husband and two kids to go to RSR and ride while I go and get the 4 of us FP to rise. I don't mind missing out the first ride as long as I get to ride later. We will then head to TSM and ride and hope to do another FP for that later as well.

As for Olaf I'm wondering if I could just wait in the line to get the pager or if all of us need to be together. I thought I would wait for the lager and then meet up with them and maybe do a ride closeby, depending on the wait. We have about 3 ft of snow here in NY and don't need to plan in it there ;) I read the pagers work in the whole HL?

This is our first trip and all new to me. We go to WDW yearly, but DL is so different. Any tips?

Hi Brandilee : ) With so many kids having this week off from school, I'm guessing it will be busier. I know ride closeurses might keep some away, but my concern is that it will funnel that many more people to other rides...less rides to handle all the people.

We are WDW veterens...recently moved from Ohio (0 degrees today) to Seattle...first time to DLand. I'm going way less planned this trip. I used my regular daily planner/spreadhseet I populate for WDW trips...and all I have are the park days marked + our 1 ADR for Fantasmich Blue Bayou dinner ; ) Very different. I miss the FP+ and magic bands.

I like the idea of 3 riding first time at rope drop, and I can either wait or do single rider. Thanks for that tip. I err on the side of considerate vs. rule breaking in the gray area of line waits/etc. I think waiting for a pager while family rides another ride close by is different...you aren't walking by so many people in line to reconnect with family. Just entering the queue together once beeper goes off. That is where I draw my line. I don't like walking past groups of peope in line. That is bad karma for me.

If you see mom (long red hair), dad (blonde), and two boys 4 (toe head, probably dressed in something Star Wars) and 9 (tall, redhead) say Hi!

When we were at DCA a few years ago, I sent the guys ahead to ride while I got passes for the three of us. Then I walked past the ride queue over by the dining patio at Flo's and waited for their car to drive by. I got a couple of cute shots of them on their first ride that way.

Have a great trip!

This will never happen twice :-) But I sent my family to the RSR queue and ran for RSR FP then jumped in the single rider line. We all arrived at the gate very close to each other and my family started waving to me (and I was hugely shocked) when the CM waved me into their car. Just a bit of Pixy Dust I would never expect... :-)
