Trip Suggestions Driving from Reno to Bay Area

My husband and I are going to get a week and a half roughly (still planning the specifics) at the end of June without the kids. We are going to fly out to Reno and visit friends that live there and in the Bay Area. I have not been out that way before. Looking for any and all ideas for places to visit, stay, eat. Really any suggestions at all will be appreciated.

Instead of Napa, if you drink, check out the wineries in Lodi. Smaller wineries, often the person pouring is the owner. And here's a secret, most of the grapes used in Napa wines are grown in Lodi.

Also, the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield is a great tour even without kids.

I've never eaten there myself, but the "Dead Fish" restaurant in Crockett is supposed to be amazing.
