Trip Status

ABD called today and emailed about Egypt trip...said they are monitoring situation. We are scheduled for June 21st, but now play the waiting game, hope ABD will decide soon if it's a go so we can change flights and jump into another ABD vacation.... Maybe Disney will put us up in the safe Hawaii resort for 11 nights instead!!!

It looks like we are a go - there has been no cancellation of this 2010 trip before the 85 days deadline, and my understanding is we are at 25%! ABD updated my flight information this morning, with a minor departure flight change.

Perhaps some of the folks concerned about Egypt will come on over to South Africa in late April/early May instead! We'll have more fun.

It varies a bit by trip, but most of them are 40 max (unless you're doing a Gateway trip). I just looked at the comparison between the Knights & Lights trip and the Gateway London & Paris, and it says K&L is 44 people, and the Gateway is 50.

Ah, you're welcome. It's certainly not easy to find. I just happened to have seen it in the comparison chart before. I can't find where they specify for most of the trips, either. It used to be pretty prominently listed that it was 40 max per trip...

I'd risk it to save $700. 40% is 18 people. (Well, actually 17.6, but close enough to 18!) I'd think most trips would go with that many people.

Our July SWS only had 9 people booked and I know there is still plenty of time, but we had another poster with an August SWS that already has 21 people onboard. If the Visa Gift Card didn't motivate any "last minute" bookers for your K&L trip, maybe it didn't for our trip either.


If I were in your shoes, I would book DLP hotel.

We are doing the Rockie Trails in June and they have 16 so far. Spoke to the rep and she seems to think they will have enough to go BUT I am making back up plans just in case.

It's always good to have a back up plan, but I don't think you have anything to worry about with 16.

I just noticed that the price has increased on several of the SWS dates. The June 25 date has been higher than the other dates for several months, but now there are 4 other dates with the higher price. None of them are my trip though, but maybe the higher price will encourage a few people to book my date. The price has gone up on a couple of the Peru dates too. I don't know about the other trips since I wasn't as familiar the rates. i wonder how near to capacity the trip has to get before the price goes up. There were only a few trips last year that eventually had a price increase and I don't think it was this early in the year. If you're sitting on the fence, it might be a good time to make a decision.
