 Okay So I am a 1st timer, we've never really had a family vacation, (family of 4, Ds 6, DD 2 1/2, My hubby, and myself) well none so far away. And we plan on goin Sept 4th - 12th. Let me know whatcha think of what I have so far: ( all I have is the TS dinner choices for the dining plan)I am a newbie so take it easy on me if I make tons of mistakes. LOL

Arrival the 4th Tues: WCC for Dinner
5th Weds: Magic Kingdom LTT for Dinner
6th Thurs: Epcot Coral Reef for dinner
7th Fri : Relax day....Magic kingdom at night and lunch or Dinner at CM
8th Sat: Mgm JoJo Lunch & Mama melrose (fantasmic) fo Dinner
9th Sun: Animal kingdom and Ohana's for Dinner
10th Mon: Epcot and either Boma's or Le Cellier cant make up my mind.
11th Tues: Mgm and we'll just have a lunch and dinner with CS.
12th Wed: early flight home.......

I know that I may not get what I want when it comes to making ADR's but wishful thinking right? Also, on the 2nd days of visiting the parks we have already visited, I plan to let the kids kinda have a late morning, so they can go at their own pace those days. So.....

Whatcha think???:flower3:

looks good to me, the only glitch I see is the day of the JoJo lunch and the Fantasmic Package at Mama Melrose. Usually they make the Fantasmic ressies early, like at 4:30 or so. SO maybe you might want to do the JoJo breakfast, then do the Fantasmic pkg for dinner. I guess it depends on what time you get the dinner ressie. It's just that the buffet's are all you can eat, so you may not be hungry for Mama Melrose.

It looks like we have similar TS choices:) We are going 8/11-8/19. Our chioces are Ohana, Crystal Palace-breakfast, Coral Reef, 50's, Le Cellier, WCC, Crystal Palace dinner and one more but we don't know which one. I think I would go to Le Cellier instead of Boma because you will already be in Epcot.

I think you did a great job. I would just add to be prepared for your kids to want to swim and to have time for that. We went this time last year and it was perfect. Plenty warm and low crowds.

Also, Downtown Disney is fun if you get a chance. It is a large, creative shopping/dining district. We love the Lego Store and really have fun playing in the lego building stations -- your kids may really enjoy this. There's also a theater and Disney Quest there if you get stuck w/rainy weather and don't want to hit the parks.

Never been but heard rave reviews about Le Cellier...we are eating there our first night...

We returned on 1/13 from the WL with DD6 and DD2, and it was our first family vacation, too! Here is my take...

Two things from my lessons learned. I would consider skipping a park. It looks like you will be there one day more than we were, so maybe you could just completely skip a day of the parks. I wish that we skipped MGM (although Playhouse Disney was too cute). The park didn't leave much of an impression on either child, and DD6 really wanted more time at MK and we needed more than one morning off.

Secondly, we had most of our dinner ADRs at 5. For a 5 pm ADR, you really need to leave your room by 4 pm, esp. if the ADR is at Epcot (long walk through the park to get to the WS restaurants). Trying to get out of our room by 4 was difficult. On one of the days that we didn't have a 5 pm ADR, DDs slept until 5 pm. I would make ADRs for 5:30 or 6, and plan on giving DDs a snack after nap. I didn't plan on giving them a snack because our ADRs were so early, but they wanted a snack and I gave it them.

With all of us in one room, the kids were tired and didn't sleep as much. It was tiring for all of us. I'll never sleep in the same room with them again. I know that it isn't the same for everyone, but I wasn't prepared for the sleeping issues. Naps were better, but nights were difficult.

BTW, Le Cellier was fabulous!

I was actually going to say the same thing. That's a lot of food. You may want to choose one or the other and save the TS for a different day, maybe the other day that you are doing MGM and not have 2 CS that day.

I think it looks great! The only thing I would do different is choose a more "kid-friendly" restaurant at Epcot on Mon, the 10th. Biergarten is a great place for families, and it has entertainment for everyone. I know that all restaurants at WDW are kid-friendly, but some appeal more for kids. That's the one thing we are changing for our future trips: only picking kid-friendly Epcot restaurants. Let's just say we had a not-to-fun experience at Rose & Crown last Sept. The meal dragged on and on, and after almost 3 hours there, we finally just got up and told the waiter to forget the rest of the meal, we were leaving (still took him about 15 more minutes to bring us the bill). We said only kid-friendly Epcot meals from now on.

I agree with the poster who said it's hard to get to Epcot for a 5pm dinner. When you are going to WDW, it will be HOT. You'll want to get to the parks at the early EMH opening, have lunch at noon at the latest, and then leave to go back to the resort to swim. We stayed at the CR and it took almost an hour to get to an Epcot WS restaurant from our room.

Just make sure you plan on leaving the parks in the afternoon or you'll all melt (lol). We found the weather to be tolerable in the mornings, unbearable from around noon-4:30pm, then just beautiful in the evenings.
