I am going out today to buy park survival gear (trip Aug 8-12). Our party will consist of me (35), DH (42), and DS (6), and I intend that each of us only take a fanny pack w/water bottle pouch into the parks.

What I have:
-fanny packs
-blister pack bandaids
-Tylenol
-digital camera
-gal and qt. size ziplocks
-sunblock lipbalm

What I'm getting today:
-Sunblock (should I get spray, wipes, or reg? )
-wide brim collapsible hats (bucket style? or safari w/tie?)
-Ace stretch bandage
-disposable ponchos

Anything else I'm missing?

Did you get sunglasses? Memory cards for the camera? (an extra 1 or 2 might be a good idea depending on how many pics you are going to take)

Any clothes? If you have a Disney Store near you, go there and maybe get a surprise for everyone. They have an awsome sale going on now.

We've always packed small breezer fans in our kids fanny packs as well.

And in my fanny pack I usually carry some kind of antihistamine creme to use on mosquito bites etc..

Do you have pens for autographs or are you buying those at WDW ?

Almost there.... :Pinkbounc

I'm not sure if this is what you meant by "wipe" for sunscreen or not...
Last year I had sunscreen that was kind of a wipe on variety---it came in a package like deodorant that you could swipe over skin. It seemed great---so small and easy to carry, no slimey feeling on hands from applying it...

In most regards it was pretty awesome and convenient...but you have to be careful putting it on! I apparently missed part of my arm and had a big red stripe down my arm after a day! :rotfl: So just make sure you don't miss a spot!

You may want to add Moleskin to your list. We use the band aid blister pads too, and they work great. But the Moleskin will help even more. I would also get a package of regular band aids. I got them at Wal-Mart and they had the ones in the tin container. That was nice because it didn't fall apart in my back pack. There were several times that we were handing out band aids at the parks because some one slipped and came down on a knee or elbow. I think the ones I bought were tins of 85 band aids.

Also, aloe or solorcane for sunburns. We use sunscreen exstensively, but it never fails that one of us gets a burn somewhere. Also, you may want to get a sunscreen stick. It is like the lib balm but a little wider. My son gets burnt underneath his eyes very easily. It is hard to get sunscreen up close to his eyes without getting it in his eyes. So, we use the stick for that part of his face.

We also like to make sure that we have plenty of AA batteries. So much that we take, digital camera, misting fans, gameboy, etc., take AA batteries.

Also, if you are going to a water park or pool, you may want to pick up one of the water proof disposable cameras. We take one each year and get great pictures with it.

One more thing to consider are travel size wet wipes. Very handy to have in the park.

hand sanitizer!
it might be disney - but public bathrooms are still public bathrooms!

I'd definitely add moleskin and handi-wipes. I used the moleskin daily after the first couple days and it helped tremendously. We used handi-wipes a lot too - even ended up giving a couple out to other families 'in need' of a quick cleanup (after cotton candy, lollipops and ice cream)! :rotfl:

I liked the tip that someone posted a while ago of bringing a small flashlight, in case your 6 year old DS should get nervous on a dark ride. You might want pennies or quarters for the pressed penny and pressed quarter machines. You also might want a few little packs of goldfish crackers or something for your son, in case he gets hungry at an inconvenient time. I always liked to have a few little surprise toys as well, mostly for the flight, or for entertaining my kids in a restaurant. That's all I can think of for now. I know I always spend a fortune, shopping for last minute things before a trip to WDW, but it's so much fun! :flower:
