We decided, at the last minute to dine at Chef Mickey's, we had ressies for the next day, but we decided to try our luck with a walk up. We left MK by monorail, the kids loved it, and we arrived at the Contemporary. I really liked the look and feel of this resort, I would like to stay there in the future, it has the feel of Tomorrowland at MK, I like that. We asked if there was a wait, and was told 5 minutes, so we were glad that we decided to try. They took our picture, you have to purchase these separately, we bought ours, they were good. The food was very good especially the prime rib, and we liked the salad bar. The kids loved the ice cream bar, it had every topping you can think of. The characters were wonderful, Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale come around to the tables. Chip and Dale bcame my two favorites on this trip, they are so playful with everyone. Donald and Goofey stay near the dessert bar, so you go out there to see them. Donald was a hoot, he came bursting up behind my DH, who was holding my DD, and tickled her. My DD is afraid of the characters, I'm sad to say, he didn't give up on her when she shyed away. He spent a good 5-10 minutes with us, there wasn't anyone else waiting, and it really helped open her up to him. One thing I noticed is, boy, Mickey, Minnie and especially Donald are short, Donald wasn't much taller than my 9 year old. Well, we did the napkin dance 3 times, in case you don't know, they play the napkin dance song and everyone spins their napkin over their heads, as Mickey and Goofey dance around the room doing the same. I don't know who enjoys it more, the kids or the parents. You have to go to Chef Mickey's, it was great.
