Hi! Sadly, we're back from our 8 day trip to WDW with our son who just turned one. First off I have to say that the trip was fabulous! We also traveled with my parents, grandmother (81 years young) and my best friend. My dining reports are on the restaurant board.
8/10/03:
We left Philadelphia at 6:50am and arrived a little early in Orlando at about 9am. The flight was mostly smooth with a little bit of bumpiness. The baby slept through the entire flight! I also met a DISer at the airport - honeymo78 - and I ran into her again later in the week at Epcot.
When we landed in Orlando, we went to baggage claim and were met by Yourride. Our driver helped get our luggage off the turnstyle and we then proceeded to the van. We loaded the van and made a stop at Publix so I could get diapers, wipes, and other items for the week. We got to the WL around 11:30am and checked in. We reserved three rooms and one of our rooms was ready so we were able to relax up in the room for a little while. We were in rooms 6108, 6102 and 6100. I had requested a North Wing room, but it was not granted and I didn't ask for a change or anything.
We went to lunch at Roaring Fork then we went to MK. I had been undecided about where to go this first day b/c the MK had EMH and the next day we were going to be at MK. But we went to MK anyway! It was a beautiful afternoon. No rain, but a little overcast and, of course, hot. We took Chase (the baby) on the Magic Carpets of Aladdin and Pirates of the Caribbean. We only waited about 10 minutes for Aladdin and 5 for POC. We also got see Share A Dream Come True Parade. We sat in frontierland a little to the right of Pecos Bills. These were really good parade spots which we got about 30 minutes before the parade started. Although today was a EMH at the MK, I didn't think the crowds were too bad.
After the parade we went back to WL. All of our rooms were ready and the gifts I ordered from "The Perfect Gift" had arrived. Everyone really like the gifts I had gotten them and my mom and dad surprised me with the gourmet chocolate basket from WDW florist. YUMMY!
For dinner tonight we went to Whispering Canyon Cafe. I posted my dining report on the rest. board.
After dinner, my parents and grandmom stayed at the hotel with Chase to relax and me, DH and best friend went back to MK. We go to ride Snow White and the Haunted Mansion. After that we decided to go back to WL because we were so tired. After all, we had to be up early for our flight! This was a great first day!!! More later!!!!!
