It was everything I had hoped it would be!
I saved for 5 years for this trip, and did ton's of research, etc. As the departure date approached I almost felt a letdown, how could any trip live up to my insane expectations?
It did! After a few crazy days of rescheduling due to Jeanne, we finally flew out. With all the numerous changes on flights and reservations I was sure something would be screwed up, but no!
Our flight on Airtran was great, on time and friendly staff. I was sure that my Town Car wouldn't show, but there they were. Tiffany Towncar Service, our wonderful driver was Abbas, very helpful.
And best of all was the Polynesian, it was everyting I had dreamed of. (since I was 10!). I had my heart set on the Samoa Building, and we got ground floor right by the pool! Room was nothing specatular, but very clean and comfortable. Even the bed was decent. But the grounds and location we so worth the price, we could get anywhere so quickly!
Weather was very hot, in the high 80's & 90's every day with no breeze, so we swam a lot. The parks seemed to have lots of people, but lines were fine, never waited more than 10 minutes and even walked on repeatedly to some popular rides like Space Mountain & Buzz Lightyear.
Had some good meals (Rainforest Cafe, Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace), and some not so good meals (Planet Hollywood was horrible, Hoop-de-do Review was so-so, but show was fun), and way too many french fries/burgers!)
We loved Blizzard Beach, weren't as crazy about Epcot as we thought we would be (very difficult to navigate, cold & sterilie feeling).
Our kids (DD's 12, 10 & 6) were great, so appreciative and gratful, thanked us every day for taking them and never asked for soveniers, etc. The only downside was we left our 3 year old with Grama so we missed him terribly, but after seeing ton's of crying, screaming and sleeping 3 year olds we knew we'd made the right decision, he would have been miserable and made us miserable as well! Our 6 year old surprised us, he was awsome! Rode every ride he could (Space Mountain 5 times, Tower of Terror 3 times), and never needed a stroller or a nap, he was such a trouper! I have to believe that is about the youngest age that can really enjoy and appreciate all that WDW is.
Thanks so much to everyone on the Disboards, I gleaned so much helpful information here and truly believe our trip wouldn't have been nearly as successful if I hadn't found this site.
Here's to future visits..when my baby is 6!
