Just returned from a fabulous relaxing trip to Disney, Jun 7 - 14th. Stayed one night at OKW just out of shear withdrawl and 6 nights at BWV. The weather was wonderful, no rain and the mornings and evenings were still breezy and comfortable, Thursday and Friday were by far the hottest.
OKW-My favorite resort, what a disapointment! Thank heavens I had people who have gone with me before and have experienced it in better times, if not I would have been totally embarrased. Stayed in room 2732, I've never minded climbing 3 floors. The room was clean and in good condition. Two of the tables had water marks, but since no coasters of any kind could be found that's not surprising. We were going to Wolfgang Pucks for a late dinner and walk around DTD, so we decided to save time and make the sofa bed up. Wow! there were enough crumbs, crushed cookies, and mushed candies to make up 2 snack bags full, but not a problem went to get the vaccum, guess what no vacuum. Called housekeeping, explained problem, requested vaccum, she said it would be delivered to the room. Came back at 11pm, no vacuum. Called housekeeping again, guess what "there isn't a single vacuum available". I explaint the problem again and she says she'll send Housekeeping. 11:30 a knock, a cleaning lady with "no vacuum". She looks at the mess and calls housekeeping, speaks to her in creole and says there's a big mess, she needs a vacuum. On her radio I hear the operator respond, I know they've called twice, they are just going to have to wait till tomorrow. She says to me, they don't have a vacuum, and I respond that's not what she said to you, I speak french/creole/spanish, she said we just have to wait and that's not acceptable. So I suggest, you aren't to capacity, that's quite apparent, get a vacuum from another room. She says she can't, it's too late but she'll clean it up. She proceeds to get a damp towel and shakes off all those crumbs etc. off onto the carpet, you've got to be kidding me! She then goes to get the dust pan and broom and guess what, we don't have those either, or I would have done it myself. Now I'm mad and tired and I tell her just to leave. We make the bed, get the kid off to bed. I go in the master, go to turn on the TV, guess what, we don't have a remote for the TV, we're batting a 100.
Next morning get up, make coffee, shower, get ready to move to BWV, go to tidy counter and cups etc., no dish liquid or sponge. I guess the maids don't like the climb to the third floor! Made a quick stop to speak to the manager with my list of problems, she apologized up and down and asked what she could do, my answer was simply to make sure that whoever is assigned to building 27 for mousekeeping, give them a refresher course as to what's supposed to be in the room and send someone to follow up after them to check their work, because right now it's completely unacceptable and it's apparent they don't care. I always tip housekeeping if the room and service are good, they got zip a dee doo da!
