I'm excited as this is my very first post! My family (DH 38, myself and DS 3.5) just returned from the World on Friday! First my thanks to all the DIS'ers for all the hints and ideas I gained from your great site prior to our trip. I'm still riding the Disney high so please excuse me if this post is a bit long.
DH and I had not made the trip since 1998 and this was the very first time for our DS. How wonderful to see it all through his eyes. The week prior to the big day we told him it was time for Disney and he asked, "Will I experience the magic?" My big memories -- riding Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin about 100 times, twirling our napkins & dancing at Chef Mickey's character breakfast, seeing the fascination each time he had a character interaction and experiencing all of those character hugs with him and finally at the Hall of Presidents when he exclaimed, "Hey, those guys are on money!"
Had a great but unplanned interaction with CMs. Hurt my knee carrying my DS through a turnstile (he was afraid to walk through them as they were at his eye level). Everyone was most helpful. Thanks to them!
Halloween party was well worth the extra money - I was the skeptic, DH insisted we go and I'm glad he did! I'd highly recommend it. Also, Fantasmic, my fav of the week. We entered the theatre at MGM at 7 p.m. - one hour prior to the show - and it's a good thing we did as it was a packed house. Wow, what a show.
Stayed at POR and enjoyed the boat ride to Downtown twice. Could tell our room was probably next on the list for renovations there but still a nice place. Semi truck with room refigerators was driving into the parking lot as we were leaving.
We're already saving our pennies for next year and can't wait to go back and "experience all of the magic" that we did not have the time for this trip. I hope to continue learning from all of you so our next trip is even better, if that's even possible!
