Got up fairly early and ate at the Concourse Steakhouse (around $10.00.) Walked to the Magic Kingdom. For those of you wondering exactly where the path is, it is across the parking lot from the North Wing. You cut across the parking lot (surprised me. I thought there would be a path starting at the building.) Follow the monorail track. You will have to cross one street. Then, you will be on the pathway which is constructed from tiles which people have paid Disney to engrave their name on to. Mystery #1. Why does Disney say that all the tiles have been sold? I saw many blank tiles in the pathway. Most tiles had a date of 1995 on them. I suppose 1994-5 is are the years Disney had a big program to sell the tiles. The walk took about 10 minutes to make. It is too hot (in May) to walk on the path in the afternoon.

I rode the horse drawn trolly down Main Street. Then I headed for Buzz Lightyear. I rode it about 4 times in a row before the wait time got to be over 10 minutes. Mystery #2. Exactly how do you get high scores? It seemed to be rather random whether or not my score was decent or not. I did notice that Disney has worked on some of the cars since my last visit. Rather than repaint the dashboards, it seems that they have glued some plastic covers over the peeling paint. They DO seem to have most of the laser guns working now.

I rode Alien Encounter. They have not changed the preshow, as some people have said they expected. I then headed to Splash Mountain and found the wait time to be 5 minutes. I rode it and headed to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and had about a 10 minute wait to ride it. Then, I headed to the Haunted Mansion. On the way, I made reservations at the Liberty Tree Tavern. The sign stated that there was a 10 minute wait, but they opened the doors just as I arrived. There were a lot of teenaged girls in the park during my visit. A group of them were in front of me at the Haunted Mansion and there were quite a few more screams taking place than usual. Mystery #3. Do teenaged girls scream so much because they are really scared or to get the other girls' (and boys') attention?

Walked to the Liberty Tree Tavern and sat in one of the rockers until time for my reservation. They told me my reservation was for 12:20 but that I could arrive early and maybe I'd be seated earlier. I went in at 12:05 and my name was called in a few minutes. This time I had the New England Pot Roast. It is good, but they sure do give you a lot. I had to save some room for the ice cream I was planning on getting at the ice cream parlor.

I went to the ice cream parlor and bought a dish of sugar free chocolate. I had planned a mini DIS Meet for 1:00 and had about 5 people who indicated that they would be able to make it and had hoped that even more might show up. I finished the one cup of ice cream. Waited about 10 minutes and then bought another cup. It was really hot around that time under the umbrellas (where I had told people that I would meet.) Now, here comes another MYSTERY. I thought I was being clever by posting the names of people I obtained from the Countdown Central who said they would be at WDW on the 5th. BIG mistake! Mystery #4. Why would people who posted their names on a public board, telling the days they would be at WDW get freaked out by someone planning a meet to copy their names and invite them to the meet? Well, it evidently did. Because, not only do no new people show up at the meet. Even the 5 who had indicated they would be there did not show up. The only one who ever indicated to me later why they did not show up, said that my posting people's names "freaked him out." I had not posted his name, because he had already indicated he would be there. So, let this be a warning to everyone. Do not quote people's names from the Countdown Central in any of your posts! I don't think that 10% or less of these names are REAL names, but none-the-less it does seem to upset people. Anyway, I waited until about 1:20 and gave up on anyone showing up. I would have waited a bit longer, but it was really hot.

Nothing else interesting happened during the remainder of my stay.
I did go to Animal Kingdom on the 6th and rode the Safari ride and saw It's Tough to Be a Bug.

On the 7th, I went back to Fantasmic again. This time I did not do the package. I just arrived one hour and 15 minutes early. This night the show started at 9:00. I bought one of those Mickey pins which has different flashing lights in different colors on the disk. I ate at the Concourse Steak House for dinner and had the Filet Minion. I was not impressed - especially with the $30 price tag.

On the 8th, ate breakfast at the Food and Fun section on the main floor. Cost < $6. I had to check out, so I checked my luggage after breakfast and went back to MK and rode Splash Mountain, Buzz and Haunted Mansion again, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, and I had a Dole Whip. Mears picked me up at 5 for a 9:20 flight.

What no mickey bar - just kidding - sounds like you had a nice time - thanks for posting!

Oh, yes, even though I'm diabetic - I did have one Mickey bar. I also had a Simba bar at AK. Other than that, I was pretty good and ate the sugar free ice cream. It is the BEST sugar free ice cream I have ever tasted. Unfortunately, it is Carnation and that is not available in Texas.

Can I just say that I am SO JEALOUS of those wait times. Well, maybe someday I can go at a non-busy time. Sounds like you had a great time. Sorry yu had to wait in the heat and that no one showed up :(
