Day 6

Today we took a break from Disneyworld and we went to Universal Studios. We took a cab (which was very not cheap). It was 35.00!! And another 35.00 back. Ugh. We got there at 8:30 and there were about 10 pple in line. So we thought we were very early....we thought that they didn't open until 10...but they did in fact open at 9. By the time the park opened, there was a good 30 pple in line!!! We were totally shocked. Disney park opening lines were always in the hundreds. We went straight to the back of the park and rode MIB, Back to the Future, and ET. We also rode this cute woody woodpecker roller coaster. We were sort of sad that we could not to their FP (well we could if we paid 25.00!!!!) But the lines were never overwhelming. We did Twister and Earthquake. Then we ate pizza for lunch.

After lunch we got our pic made with woody woodpecker and we watched this awesome show called extreme ghostbusters. It was awesome cuz there were these 4 hot guys that played the ghostbusters!!! LOL!!! Anyways, we watched the beetlejuice show after that (It was not good at all)!! Then we did Jaws. Afterwards we played a ring toss game. It was $5 for a bucket of rings. Sarah won!!!! Unfortunately the prize was a 4 1/2 dog. So we had to call the airport and make sure that we could check it under the plane. We could!!!! Then we rode Jimmy Neutron's ride (Great Fun) and Shrek 4-D.

Overall, I would not go back to Universal. It is nothing compared to Disneyworld. :( i was sorta dissappointed. It was mostly simulator rides. I think Islands of Adventure would have been better. We planned on going back to MGM but traffic was bad and it was already 6:30. :( So, we went back to the hotel and ate...and went to the Arcade for awhile. Also, since there is a Disney store in the hotel, we did some last minute souvenir shopping!!!

Tomorrow ..Day 7...Goodbye Disney!!! :(

Thanks for the review of Universal. We have been to WDW about 6 times and have not made it over there yet. We are starting to think about adding it in and I have been looking for some opinions. Would you have had a better time if you were staying at a Universal Hotel or had your own transportation? I have to admit MGM at WdW is my least favorite park, so Universal may just be a big disappointment for my. Did you go to Islands of Adventure?

We have been to Universal on both of our trips to WDW. If you have kids that like RockNRoller Coaster than they will love Islands of Adventure. The Spiderman ride there is the best ride in all of Orlando!! Our grandson, 10, loved the thrill rides, they were less impressed with the Studios side, but the Men in Black ride is way cooler than Buzz Lightyear. So if you are looking for some new rides and you have older kids I would give it a try.

For sure it is not as "magical" as Disney, but it is still a lot of fun.

I would have prob liked it better if i had stayed at a hotel at universal. They have perks just like disney resorts. I think that i would have really liked islands of adventure...more thrill rides. I'll go to islands next time and try it out!!! :)
