We are back from our vacation at WDW. What a blast but we are sure tired.
Before I forget the postcards were mailed out to those who requested one. We mailed them from WDW on March 12th!!
We arrive by car on March 11 to Best Western Lakeside on 192 (Irlo Bronson Highway). We usually never stay offsite but I had one 4 nights at this hotel. We had this reserved via Orlando Vacation (www.orlandovacation.com) who donated the package prize. They were so helpful in securing the hotel, etc and provided us with a guide on the parks.
However I WILL NOT stay at this hotel again. Rude and inefficient staff. We had also ordered a rollaway bed one month prior for our room. We arrived at check in and got our keys and paid our resort fees and rollaway fee ($60 total). We wanted to go to MK that evening and was told our rollaway would be there before we arrived. Well we got in at midnight after a great and very slow night at MK. We got so much done in 4 hours!!!! Anyhow no rollaway. I called the front desk and told them we had paid for our rollaway and never received it and we wanted to get to bed. Well I was yelled at and waited until 1:35 AM and never received it. I called again after we woke up and was treated poorly again. We finally received it on our 3rd night. Upon check out of this hotel we heard so many complaints while waiting in line.
From dirty rooms, to over booking, etc. Our room was clean and it was great grounds with a walgreens and pizza hut on site, but service was nill.
Our last 2 nights we had reserved the Comfort Inn in LBV on Palm Parkway. We got this room free from our choice rewards points saved. It was a small room with one queen bed and a bunk bed and twin bed in a cubicle called the kids suite. Much too small to navigate in. And the noise was terrible. Each room was right on the I-4 parallel and sounds could be heard from traffic all night. Then our AC broke in the middle of the night thursday night. They did not have any other rooms and could not get it fixed so we just checked out.
We stayed our last night at the Magic Castle. Not an upscale hotel by any means however we got a suite (2 rooms with an adjoining room). Only $90. each room had refridge and micro and new ac's. This was the best stay out of all!!! It is located in the 4000 block of 192 (Irlo Bronson Hwy). Purple and yellow castle hotel. It was booked by nightfall. Each individual room was spacious (bigger than a POFQ double room). Each individual room was $49 and that was tax included.
However traffic was the worst with all the construction on 192 and I-4 that we will never stay offsite again!! LOL
Parks:
MK on the first evening. We arrived at 6pm and the park closed at 11. We got a lot done. The park seemed dead. We got right on all the rides in Fantasy land and Adventureland right away. Even got a front row see to Spectro Magic parade near Splash Mountain.
MGM on 1st full day on the 12th. First thing we did was get our stroller/wheelchair pass. The day started out slow but quickly got more croded after 3pm. Aerosmith rollercoaster was shut down so did Tower of Terror twice. Saw all the shows. Great movie ride also broke down halfway thru and we had to be escorted off. Never got to see the end this go round.
Fantasmic was great!!! Crowded but we had a back row center seat with a perfect view. Weather was fantastic all day.
Universal Studios on the 13th. Loved the attractions/rides but will never go there again. I cannot believe how rude everyone who works there is!!! Not at all what we expected.
Animal Kingdon on the 14th. Got right on the Everest ride with only 15 minute wait at 10:30 AM. No fast pass needed. We then went on the Kilamanjaro ride and saw Lion King and Bugs Life and road a few rides in Dinloand USA. We left at 3pm. The park was so crowded and it was humid.
But we saw all we wanted too plus the characters in Character Landing.
MK on the 15th. Great weather to start out with at 10AM but soon got back in the early evening. Most rides shut down due to rain and lightning. Weather cleared up for the Family Parade and Spectro Parade. Fireworks were wonderful. Park closed at midnight however huge down pour had us leave at 11. Still a great day and we all snagged FREE Dole Whips!! Woohoo. The cast member selling them stated it was a magical gift.
Epcot on the 16th our last day. We did Mission Space (both intense and less intense rides), Spaceship Earth, Test Track twice and Soarin' and Finding Nemo ride. We left early to meet up with family.
We decided to go back this summer using our Pin number we got.
Great day at the parks. Only park we found overly crowded during our stay was AK. Not bad crowds at all.
Make sure if you take any Disney transportation to ask for the Disney transportation trading cards!!! We got 8 on our trip. We got 4 for just riding in the front of the monorail.
