7/21-Daytona and HRH
After breakfast,we went swimming in the ocean and then packed to head back to Orlando. Before going to Orlando, we went to Daytona USA. I wanted my son to experience the Richard Petty Ride-along program so we signed up for that when we got there.You get to ride in a stock car around Daytona Speedway at about 150mph.He has already rode in a sprint car and he said this ride was exciting, too. After the ride we went into Daytona USA and experienced the interactive attractions.We also took the tram ride to tour the speedway.We left at about 5 and went to eat at Sonnys BarBque.This was another choice of my sons and again the food was good.After eating we headed to HRH,the drive only took about an hour and we took I4 this time. Traffic was okay except when entering Orlando.We found Hard Rock and parked in the self park then went to check in. This was now 7pm and no one else was checking in at this time. Catherine took very good care of us. She was very helpful. I handed her every card I had such as Lowes First,Fan Club,Entertainment,etc. I had booked a pool view room with 2 queen beds with an Ent.rate of $135 but Catherine said she was able to upgrade us to club level for the length of our stay.The club level room had a king bed and a pullout sofa but my son doesnt mind the sofabed so we take the upgrade.What a pleasant surprise though we didnt know really what to except from club level. We got our keys and checked out the room (7034).Very nice! We went back to the parking lot and retrieved our bags and then unpacked.I wanted to go to the park to get our etickets(5days/price of 2). I didnt realize how close HRH is to the park until we walked there.No problem getting our tickets and we decided to just walk around USO.Well,we ended up going into T2,ET, and Back to the Future.Not bad for less than an hour in the park and we hadnt figured out FOTL yet. It was then back to the hotel and we were in time for the evening sweets. Cookies, brownies,drinks in club level. We then went back to the room and the bed was turned down,drapes drawn,music playing and a small gift on the bed. Great end to the day!
