A very hot trip to DLP :sunny:

Alright first attempt on a trippie, hope I don`t bore you but in case I do just go on reading before bedtime, it`ll make falling asleep more easier. And as I mentioned before I don`t have pictures because I`m probabely the only person in the world who still uses a camera with film. So, here goes:

Cast: three girls and a boy; for me it was my 4th trip to DLP all the others were Firsttimers. The trip was a gift from our parents for graduating from university as dentists and one of my friends took her boyfriend with her (I will call them the couple to make things easier). The couple collects Disney movies and likes Disney, the other girl only watched Finding Nemo once and knows nothing more about Disney. So very exciting constellation to start with.

Day 1 (July 19th)

The day started at 5.30 in the morning. On my former trips we always started much earlier but the fact that we had two late opened park days and a very hot weather forecast made us decide to get a relaxed start.
Packed my stuff in the car and drove 40 km to my first friends house to fetch her, than we started the 40 kilometres drive to the couples house which took us a lot longer than it should have, somehow map24 didn`t seem to know the way either…
Finally arrived, changed car (air condition, yeah!) and drove off! :moped: Only 500 km to go! At least that`s what we thought. Unfortunately the couple lives at the countryside where they don`t have many streets and who would have guessed the street to get us on the highway was closed. So we had to drive almost another hour through villages that consist of 3 houses until we found another way to the highway. OK, now we were off! :car:
Had only a short breakfast break after crossing the border to France and another break before the last peage (toll)station. There are 4 toll stations on the way to DLP and we payed with the couples credit card. While waiting in line at the last one couples boy suddenly couldn`t find his credit card and the last time we remembered to have seen it was at the last stop. After searching the car quite a while we decided to go on anyway and have another look at the car when arriving but what a great start to a trip. :guilty:

Finally we arrived at the Santa Fe and had to cruise around the area to find a parking lot. It was already very hot and the reception area didn`t seem to have any oxygen left in the air. After a short wait we got checked in but there weren`t any Good Morning Fantasyland Breakfasts left   !! The CM was very nice and told us to check the next day again if there would be any available by then. We got our breakfast time for 8.15 for the next morning.
Feel the magic already? Lost credit card, no GMFB, more than an hour searching the way… :confused3

But we were there  ! We had room 15 at building 16, which only consists of 8 rooms all on one floor so it was very calm. The room already was as hot as outside. We unpacked a little and got ready for the park. On the way we checked the car and found that the credit card had slipped into a very tiny split in the middle console and that there was no way to get it out again :sad2: ! We walked along the river and got to the Disneyland Park at around 3.00. Afterwards we realized we should have waited another 2 hours before entering the parks because it was so hot that every step seemed to be a torture. All we wanted was to sit down a while and be in the shadow.

The couple wanted to ride the Railroad around the park so we got in line at Main Street Station and that`s where you can see that my brain didn`t work at all because of the heat  ! Standing in line at Main Street Station? How stupid is this during high season? We could have gotten on the train within 10 minutes at Fantasyland or Frontierland! But that came to my mind after 20 minutes in line which had exhausted us so much we just decided to go on waiting for a train. So, after queuing 45 min at 36 degrees without air condition there was our train! And what a surprise: it wasn`t any colder at the train and it had to stop at a crossing at Frontierland for some time so that the music was already pointing out Fantasylands specials while we were standing 20 metres away from the Frontierland Station. Well I could really see the magic on my friends` faces… :guilty: :sad2:

We decided to start with Discoveryland first (very unusual for me but we didn`t feel like walking too much). Star Tours was our first ride since I never had to wait there a long time and they had such a nice aircondition :chewy: ! Only waited 5 minutes and everybody liked it.

Afterwards we got fastpasses for SMM2, left Buzz out because of 35 min waiting time, walked through Nautilus and got to HISTA :3dglasses with another 5 min wait. I really like that one but unfortunately the seats of two of us didn`t work so no mice for them and almost no water… ( After thinking about it I guess Tinkerbell forgot our Pixie Dust this day pixiedust: …)

Now time for SMM2 Fastpasses with a french teenage girl of maybe 13 years smoking inside the building :sad2: ! I really enjoyed the ride while my friends thought it was too bumpy to go on it again the next days.
We then decided to take the now 25 min wait for Buzz, which was also a firsttime for me and we had so much fun on it! It became our groups favourite. :cheer2:

It was around 6.00 now and we all felt hungry so we decided to get some food at Bella Notte. Good decision because of the sprinkler next to it! Three of us took the pasta menue and one the four cheese pizza menue, we all thought it was ok :drinking1 . We decided to extend the break to cool down a bit and then watch the parade outside. That`s really a very good spot to have a nice view of the parade so thanks for the tips again.

After that we explored the castle up- and downstairs and made our way to Frontierland. Riverboats were closed as always when I`m there (somehow they don`t seem to want me to ride it and I have not been on them yet! :confused3 ) so we headed to PM with less than 5 minutes wait. Walked around Boot Hill and enjoyed that temperatures got better because of sunset. There weren`t any fastpasses left so we got in line for BTMRR which was a 30 min wait and extremely suffocating but much fun :Pinkbounc .

Off to visit POTC pirate: and they did great with the refurbishment. We took a walk through Alice`s maze while the lights started to get on.
Then we decided to get a place for Fantillusion and Wishes but we found it already crowded so we got a spot at Central Plaza in front of the Wishes sign where we sat on the fences which was good to see the transformations and Wishes but we hardly saw the dancers and characters on the street.
Enjoyed Fantillusion and watched Wishes. All the people surrounding us sang along so there was a special atmosphere :dance3: . The added fireworks improve the show a lot. Afterwards we followed all those millions of people out of the park and walked back to the hotel. Found our room still hot and realized there was no way to open the window more than 10 centimetres. After showering we all fell asleep at once.

So to all who made it to the end without sleeping on your keyboard thanks for reading, hope it`s not too longwinded but I still remember so much. I will try to add some pictures as soon as my friends (who had digital cameras) send them to me.

Great start to your trip writing career Isma!! :goodvibes Shame that the day wasn't brimming with pixie dust, though it sounds as if it got much better as it went on.

And please remember that trip reports can never be too long!! :teacher:
