Just back from Florida
We did Disney 1/24-1/27
1-24 Monday
headed to AK (leaving from Hutchinson Island) and arrived around 11. The park seemed busy, for some reason AK always does with the narrow pathways, but we headed over to Africa and to the Safari. We waited less than 10 mins. It was a bit chilly, but the Rhinos, Giraffes and Elephants were more visable than ever. No sign of the cheetahs and we could barely see the Lions. We went from there to the bird show and it was only about 1/2 full. I got the give the bird a dollar
Went to eat at Tuskers and headed over to Dinoland. Went on all the rides there with no wait except for about 5 mins for Tri-Spin. Left AK around 4, just before the parade to check-in at SSR and make our ressies for the medevil times at 6:30. If you haven't done that it's a BLAST! I have two boys 5 and 4 and they were captivated for the whole show. They got to get autographs and photos after the show and we have a fantastic time at the show!! Little pricey but it was well worth it!
1-25 Tues.
Got up and around and made it to MK at 9:15. Parking lot was fairly empty and we were only about 4 rows from the front. Loaded up and headed in via monorail. The security line was a tad long, but we split up and us without bags went in and got a stroller. By the time we got the stroller the rest of the party caught up with us. Headed in directly to Fantasyland and hit Winnie the pooh with no line, Peter Pan with less than 5 mins, Philharmagic and got into the next show that was little more than 1/2 full and rode the teacups too ;-) From there we headed to Splash Mountain and walked on. Hit a few more rides in that area, Haunted Mansion, Country Bears...etc...then went to eat at Liberty Tree. The food there is excellent. We headed to Adventure Land then to Tomorrowland. After hitting all the favorite rides there the only wait was about 10 mins for Jungle Cruise, it was moving slow for some reason? I think at least two boats were training new Skippers. We saw on that we couldn't board because of this. Tomorrowland we waited for less than 5 mins on Buzz and Stitch. The rest was walk on.
We left the park at 5ish for PS at Ohanas. Had a great meal and hung out on the beach for the fireworks at 7. It was nice to be back there its so nice there (we stayed there for 8 days in October). Headed home to SSR.
(Sidenote here, almost forgot. DS 5 got a haircut and lots of green gel. Everyone at the stores loved and he got a ton of comments. He loved it too
)
1-26 Wed.
Up again at epcot by 9. Park is very empty. Hit Spaceship Earth for the first time for me (chezzy but good ride) Hit all the favs for the kiddos, not wait for Figment, Mission Space (excellent ride) rode twice, Test Track 3 times, all before lunch time!! Went into World Showcase and had lunch rode most of the rides there and went to Tepanyaki for Dinner. Split up with the rest of the crew and hoped to monorail over to MK for late night EMH with 5 yo DS. Rode up Front and were lucky to catch the fireworks at MK while heading in on the monorail!! It was very cool!! Got into MK at 7:15, everyone was leaving in hoards and we were going in
Went straight to Splash Mt. and rode 4 times in a row with no wait, got to stay on once. Went over to Fantasyland and found out where everyone was!! Peter Pan was 40 mins, so we left and went to Adventureland, it was empty. Hit Aladdin with no wait, and Pirates was EMPTY!! no one on our boat and no one in front or behind us. Jungle Cruise was closed :-( headed over to Tomorrowland and rode hit several rides, hoped on the TTA right before closing and rode around as the rest of the park closed. We had a blast for those last 3 hours and got a lot of rides in. We took our time leaving the park and hit the candy store
Got home late and the 5 yo was sleeping all the way home on the Disney Bus...man was he heavy!!
1-27 Thurs
managed to get up early to head to MGM. Park seemed busy at the entrance but one inside it was dead. We hit Indy and the kids really love that show
on the way to Playhouse Disney the army men were out and recruiting kids for "basic training" The boys loved it and followed along with the pushups and exercises. (Sidenote, we got Guest of Honor Badges on the way in and many CM's, the army men etc, said HI to them and called them by name) We hit Playhouse Disney and muppets. We did lunch at Sci-Fi and LOVED it. Its a very cool resturant. The food is Burger/Fries good enough....but the fun was well worth it. We headed home at 1 ish after 4 days/3 nights of fun fun fun.
Thanks for reading...please let me know if you have any question!!
