Wednesday May 8 - Magic Kingdom

Well it is my Birthday. We stop by City Hall and pick up my birthday badge. My daughter had alot of things planned for mom today. I had alot of cast members wish me a Happy Birthday.

Up fairly early and again we just grabbed something from the food court for in the room. Off to the bus depot, not too long of a wait. We are scheduled with a character dinner at the Crystal Palace today. We hurry to Fantasyland. My husband took my daughter to Dumbo and Teacups - no wait while I headed to Winnie the Pooh to get fastpasses. There was already a line for this ride. We really utilized more of the fastpasses this visit a/c no early entry. Some rides you really needed them. Went to It's a Small World and back to use pass for Winnie the Pooh. We went pack to get fastpasses for Peter Pan and walked around alittle bit. Walked over to Tomorrowland and the line for the Speedway was rather short, hopped in line. And back to Peter Pan. Now it is time to head to Toon Town. I was amazed with how many people in Toon Town by this time that the lines for autographs with the characters were not. We only entered the line for the Princesses - hardly a wait. We skip Mickey, Minnie and also Winnie the Pooh a/c we have character meals scheduled with all of them. In the Princess tent is Cinderella and two of the mice. My daughter is happy. We decided on this visit to try a tshirt for autographs. It worked great. My daughter also used an autograph book. I stood in the line with the tshirt too hurry up so I didn't take time from kids in line. After this, we leisurely walk around take in some of the rides. Again today is HOT! Actually it is HOT the whole 10 days we are there. We took advantage of the inside shows in the afternoon. We stayed in a "land" and finished one at a time. We did use fastpasses for Buzz and Jungle Cruise but all of the others were not too bad of waits. Pirates of the Caribbean was no wait at all. The new Cinderella Surprise show is Fantastic! We watched this show 3 times on our visit. One to tape the whole thing! :bounce: :bounce:

We did not eat much during the day with the character dinner planned. Grabbed something fast and light for lunch. We had reservations for 5:15. This is where my husband and daughter had most of their fun for my birthday. I got a birthday card from all of the characters and some of the cast members sang to me. We had excellent service and really enjoy the Crystal Palace. I do not know if we would do dinner again. Don't get me wrong the food I ate was good but different. There wasn't much of a variety for children. Children aren't going to eat much from the adults side either. The prime rib and pork roast is very good. I did try the salmon, not bad. My husband likes things like duck and lamb but I am not too adventureous. I am not complaining for what we had but would probably go back to the breakfast. We have never tried the lunch.

The park closed at 7:00 so we finished the day looking around, catching a few more rides and shopping on Main Street.

Well Happy belated Birthday or should I say "UnBirthday" today. Sounds like you guys worked the FP system well. I always like to here that because we do too.

How did you get the characters to sign the card? Was it arranged ahead or spur of the moment?
