TRIP REPORT DAY 2

I can say that everything worked according to my plan today…. Errrrrr!! Not! Who am I kidding? If anybody remembered we had an itinerary but as expected it didn’t go based on what I have planned. We woke up at 7:38 am because DD started crying otherwise we were soooo tired from last night we would have stayed a bit longer. We were ready by around 8:30 and we were in the breakfast hall by 9nish. Breakfast was ok, there was a lot of choices both hot and cold. I liked the scrambled egg and chicken sausage, I wouldn’t try their cereals again though because it wasn’t nice. One thing I have noticed though was there was a lot of families wrapping food in a tissue roll and taking it out, I was going to do it as well but then DH said he doesn’t fancy anything there and knowing how he like his food, I didn’t bother because I know it will go to waste as I don’t eat bread and pastry as a main meal. We are a big eater! After we had our breakfast we then proceeded to the lobby to wait for the number 54 bus, we were among the first people there together with another British family. We decided to make a queue but when they saw the bus round the corner there was another French family who just pushed their way rudely, I couldn’t help but comment on how rude it was and another lady said, “oh well, apparently they don’t have the same kind of manners that English do” which I agree on that occasion. Mostly people from other EU countries just shove themselves to get in which really annoys me although some of them are dead nice. Anyway, the bus came and other people tried to push in and the two of us (another British Family) who were there waiting for the bus first was left in the middle and just barely enough room so what I did was spread my arms and put myself on the other half of the entrance of the bus and stood there so my DH and DD plus the other family can get in. I know am bad but we’ve waited long enough. Anyway, we got to the bus stop and it was absolutely pouring! As originally planned we went to Disney Studio first but DD was already snoring by then so we had to missed a lot of things in our itinerary and just wandered around, we first saw characters from Alladin but it was too crowded so we gave it a miss and besides DD was fast asleep anyway. We got out of studio 1 and it was really miserable and we were getting soaked, we walked towards cinemagique and saw Mickey Mouse with barely any people so off I went to give him a cuddle. I felt like a little kid again, so overwhelmed that it nearly brought me to tears. I know its petty but I’ve always wanted to go to Disneyland. After that, DH and I came to an agreement that we can take turns going to the rides and looking after DD who that time was still asleep. I went to the Disney TV Studio and thought it was quite dragging and having a bad eyesight didn’t really help coz I had to read the sub title as the lady narrating was speaking in French. After what seemed to be a long explanation, I finally got out and to my surprise saw Cruela again, with barely anyone but as I walking towards her kids was running pass me and before I knew it, Cruela was already crowded by both kids and parents so I decided to go to DH and sit on the bench so he can take his turn. While we were there, DD has waken up and was playing in her pram with a CM. She asked how old was she and she was surprised and told me she’s a bit too young to enjoy Disney, I told her, DD might be young but Im not! Hehehe… infact I kinda left it too late! The CM kept DD amused for awhile, I then checked on Cruela and it wasn’t too crowded so I excused my DD from the CM and headed to Cruela. My DD couldn’t take her eyes off Cruela and she was absolutely fascinated because it was something new to her! We had to wait for our turn and finally, I asked Cruela if I can take a photo of her and my DD but because DD was in the pushchair, Cruela wearing a white fur coat sat a bit down so she can be levelled with my DD, I thought it was a really nice gesture.. so Cruela isn’t really bad afterall!! DH came back and was quite pleased with the photo that I had taken. We then decided to walk around again binning our initial itinerary and just going to where our feet lead us. We saw the Cinemagique and DH was amused with the effects. After that we made our way to the Studio tour which DD got scared, she was trembling during the big splurge of water and the fire. She jumped to me and wanted a cuddle for security well cant blame her as it was sooo amazingly real!

After going to the studio tour, our tummy’s starting to complain so we headed off to Studio 1 and had a look but DH didn’t like the food as he wanted a big meal. I suggested we go to Disneyland Park, we had to run a bit as it was really pouring and DD was getting ratty as she must have been starving as well.

We had our tickets put through the machine and as soon as I entered the park I was stunned. Even if the weather is bad, it didn’t spoil the moment of finally stepping foot to my childhood dreams. We walked through main street and at the bottom right we found Plaza Gardens so I suggested to DH we go there. When we got in there was a queue and waited for about 20-30 mins which seemed forever as DD was screaming murder and it we were soaked in the rain. The food was quite nice and they had seafood paella, we were that hungry I think I returned 2-3x so it was well worth it. We were also seated near the window with the view of the castle outside and was served by a nice lady who kept on playing with DD. There was also a band playing while we were having our meal and DD kept on swaying her head and clapping her hands every time a song finishes. It was a very nice meal and would recommend it to anyone with a big appetite as the price will be money well spent.

After the meal, the rain was quite bad and DD refuse to get in her pushchair so we were contemplating on going back to the hotel and let DD have her nap. As we were walking in the round about, I checked on DD and she was flat out, I asked DH if he wants to go back and as usual he said, what do I want to do, so I asked if we can wander around and check out how big the park was. I suggested going in the castle as it was raining pretty bad to get some cover. I then saw a sign saying sommat about a Dragon so I assumed that it was the famous dragon, we went in and am right… We explored round a bit and decided to head up the castle, I saw a lift and pressed the button, waited a while so I thought its not working, we saw a bit of light on the other end so we went there and led us on the side of the castle. We then made our way inside the castle, DH asked if he can go upstairs to explore more so I sat with the pushchair on a bench and waited there.

It was nearly 4 p.m. so we decided to head to the parade queue and much to my amusement there wasn’t a lot of people as I have expected, probably because of the weather. DD was still asleep but we still decided to stay and watch. The parade begun and it was really magical. It was everything I imagined although we didn’t see snow white but it was still as beautiful. It was like having a dream come true. After the parade, I was so overwhelmed that tears just came out and DH teased me for being a big softy. My childhood dream has finally come into realization and I guess the tears was due to the fulfilment and contentment of that dream. After the parade, we made our way to Adventure Isle and walked around there, we also went to Skull rock and DH explored the cave and came out with a big smile on his face. We also passed by Pirates of the Caribbean and made our way back to Fantasy land towards Discoveryland. The park was nearly closing and after checking out the rides and getting some drinks we headed off to Main Street. On the exit Ive decided to buy DD a balloon. It was still pouring and DD got a bit cranky because she wanted to hold it so we went to Café Mickey which I had a reservation. We saw Goofy, Mickey Mouse, Tiger there. I wasn’t too keen about the food but the experience of eating with the characters made it worth. DH had a burnt steak and I had a mushroom soup, DD had a kids meal which she didn’t even touch apart from the dessert buffet’s m&m’s. After tea, we went straight back to the hotel, changed and left DD to sleep coz she never will if she can see us, went back to the room after 30 mins and there she was sound asleep. We then changed and dozed off ourselves and hoping that next day the sun would really shine on us.

All in all it was a nice day. We didn’t manage to do a lot that day as it was raining pretty bad and DD was asleep most of the time. I was just wishing that the weather would cooperate a bit more tomorrow as we are heading to Paris for a day tour.

Hope your still awake… will try to squeeze in a shorter trippie about paris next time!

oh no make it as long as possible - the longer the better!

i really enjoyed reading it, i'm so happy you enjoyed it! As the CM said, your DD might have been too little to fully enjoy it, but just hearing how excited you were is reason enough to go!! The weather does make a big difference, I've been a few times when the skies have opened and we were forced to go back to the hotel and wait it out for 2 hours.

Even though you didn't get much done attractions wise, I'm glad you still managed to soak up the Disney atmosphere just walking about - even having a coffee is magical!!

I enjoyed your report. You must have been around the same time as me, we could have even been on the same coach going to the park. We stayed at the Explorers from 2nd - 7th March. We met a family from the Dream Park, could have been you, and they said the hotel was quite empty really compared to the amount of people waiting outside the Explorers.

I could not agree with you more about people shoving and pushing and getting on those shuttle buses is a nightmare.

We had an schedule of what we were doing, it took my days to prepare and as soon as we were in the park for our first day, I basically put it in my pocket and did not look at it again until day 3.

Enjoying your reports :goodvibes

Shame about the weather although it sounds like you had a magical time.
Baby to grandparent I think Disney is for everyone :)
