So - Sat morning, and the phone rings at 6 am...DH picks up to Mickey...he was surprisingly delighted. I may have to hear "up and at-em" jokes for a month or two. We got ready, went to Pepper Market for some coffee, and went to the bus stop 30 min before EMH at MGM...
And then we waited (repeat to yourself about 90 times). Yes, we waited for a bus for 45 minutes (this weekend was the worst bus service I have ever had at WDW - not sure what was going on - it wasn't just the resort, it was parkhopping too...but I didn't have to drive, so that was all that mattered!) .
By the time we got to MGM, people were headed in. We had to pick up our tickets at Guest Services, and due to the soap stuff going on, the line was about the length of - well, the longest line you can imagine. By the time we got our tickets, it was no longer EMH. I should have known better - should have picked them up when we arrived the night before!! Anyways, despite the fact that it was Saturday, soap weekend, the last weekend of FWF, etc, we did well. We did big rides first, used Fastpass, and managed to do these rides/shows on Saturday - RnRC (aka "pants"), TOT twice, ST, Muppets, (switch to AK) Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl, ITTBAB...and I know I am leaving some stuff out. This was at a slow, distinctively non-commando (i.e., DH-friendly) pace, pointing out stuff to DH, going into every store with a Xmas display in the window, and eating lunch at Pizzafari.
Switch to Epcot, where we arrived at 3 pm. DH had heard a lot about DATW, so this was the activity scheduled for the afternoon. We did not hit every country (drinkwise), thank God, though we did hit several FWF stands. We were at the UK pub by about 6:30 pm with a few "friends" we'd made along the way - they were really good friends - I have the receipt that we purchased them some B-52's to prove it and everything. By about 8, we were exhausted, and there was NO way I was going to drink another thing, so we headed back to CSR.
Sunday - DH not so delighted by the 6 am Mickey call. Mickey promptly hung up upon. Back to sleep. I went to my conference for a while, despite the fact that I was hating DATW, the UK pub, my new friends, and the creator of alcoholic beverages. Yadda, yadda...we wound up in MK at about 2 pm. This should give you some idea of manageability of crowds with proper use of fastpass - we managed to do the following stuff (again, non-commando style) and be back at CSR by 7 pm: Space Mountain, Buzz (twice), Splash Mountain, BTMRR (yes, dear, I KNOW the counterpart at ED is much better!!!!), Pirates, HM, eat lunch, and stop in every store with an Xmas display. It would have been difficult to do Peter Pan, Dumbo, or Pooh without either getting up for EMH and/or acquiring fastpasses plus waiting in at least a long line or two - the fastpasses for these rides were for several hours later, lines were about 45-60 minutes by 5 pm. The stuff we went on was very do-able - many rides were basically walk-ons or had 5 minute waits. Seeing as how we violated essentially all UOG rules, I was pretty impressed.
Note - I beat the living heck out of DH on Buzz. Both times. Yay, me!!!
Back to CSR...sleep, glorious sleep...
