Our first trip to the Boardwalk. We were in a Studio room 1123. The Studio was a little strange. We had the daybed. And I thought - what a stupid thing to stick there. Didn't realize it was a day bed - until I read a post here. LOL The Closet was a weird set up. You had to take out the pack'n'play, and high chair to get at the ironing board, because the vanity was blocking one of the doors. We were really far out. So far as a matter of fact - it only took us 10 minutes to walk to MGM. But - it was very quiet.
We survived the hurricane very well in this room. It was a north facing room overlooking a retention pond, on the right of the bridge at the entrance. We watched that water go higher, and higher and higher. It went up about 5 feet. Some water came in the room - but it was through the wall in the corner that was catching the brunt of the wind and rain.
On the night of the Hurricane there was entertainment for the kids, character greetings, etc. Plus boxed lunches. We went up several times - but were unable to hit it right, because they were always out of food. Could have a little to do with people taking 20 juice boxes, and 10 cans of soda, I saw people with 5 and six bags of food. My DS 7 pointed at one guy with 20 juice boxes and said - Gee they must have a bunch of kids. LOL As for damage - some trees, some light poles, light fixture globes. Missing shingles.
We had a tough time extending our stay here. There were no rooms available, we were told to call CRO, they couldn't make any reservations, we were told to drive from resort to resort looking for a room. We went back to the front desk, the rooms they told us that were available - and to call CRO - were now unavailable 10 minutes later. We ended up asking for a manager to see if they could explain to us what was going on. She found us room here at the BWV. We ended up with a 1 BR facing Luna Pool. I still don't understand how this room came available. But I'm not complaining. We drove down, and there are reports of no gas available at the gas stations.
We have stayed in studios - and a grand villa. But the 1 BR is spoiling the studios for us. LOL I can hear the "I need more points" chant in my head. LOL
