Welcome to part 3 of my trip report.
Today we woke up early, about 6:45 AM, as we wanted to amke it to Epcot for EE. We skipped breakfast in our rooms, deciding to eat something when we got there (after TT, of course!). We left the resort & got to Epcot around 7:30 - 7:40 & were held at the parking booths. We waited there about 10 minutes, then were allowed to park. When we got to the entrace, we waited on more lines. I guess it doesn't pay to get there so early.
After being allowed in, we wanted to head straight to TT, but a bunch of characters were there, so we stopped & said hi. We met w/Mickey, Goofy, Dale, Capt. Hook, Smee, Dopey & Donald. Lots of fun & lots of pictures. We then headed to TT. We convinced my older sister to ride it (she skipped it on Monday). Everyone enjoyed the ride, and the wait was even shorter that Monday.
After TT, we decided to eat breakfast. We passed through the EU, not liking their menu, & ate in the Espresso Bakery place. Not bad, had a muffin & chocoalte milk (I was sick of the Nescafe already
) After breakfast we headed to the Imagination pavilion & rode JIYIw/F!. It was OK, but I miss the original. I guess I should be glad I never saw the abomination before this one. We messed around in the interactive area for a little bit, then went to HISTA. The pre-show was 1/2 over, so that was good. We enjoyed the show, but the little blasts of air just didn't feel like mice were crawling on me. The other effects were good. Better than Captain EO, that's for sure.
We then headsed for the Land pavilion. Rode the boat ride. It's good, but I can understand why kids might steer away. A little too educational. After the boat ride, we headed to Circle of Lfe, but were told another show wouldn't start for 13 minutes. We decide dto leave instead of sitting around. We then hit the Living Seas (we took the movie option). Movie is good, & the pavilion was good, but it didn't compare to Sea World, where we were headed to on Thursday. After the Seas, we checked out Innoventions. I could take it or leave it, but I did get to send one of those e-mail post cards to my GF.
By then it was approaching 12:00, & we had 1:00 PS at San Angel Inn in Mexico, so we headed to that side of WS. We rode Maelstom in Norway (good ride, but way too short). Thge trolls are very cool. Poked around Norway, then headed back to Mexico to check in. I always liked that pavillion, the eternal night is very relaxing. We had a table right by the river ride & volcano, whcih was nice. Food & service were lsightly disappointing, espceially when compared to our dinenrs at Le Cellier & Kona. I did like my Dos Equis though
After lunch, we rode El Rio del Tiempo. The best thing about the ride is that it is in the AC. Arguable the most borign atteaction in all of WDW. Is that really the best they could come up w/to decribe the culture & history of Mexico? I doubt it
After the ride, we poked around the shops & my dad bought a cool crystal frog figurine for his friend w/the fish ponmd in his backyard. We then hit Norway again (so my sister could get a sweet pretzel), then China, Germany & Italy. Visited all the shops there. The German candy shop was a highlight - reminded me why they call Germany the Land of Chocolate (mmm . . .the Land of Chocolate
We then made it back to the American Adventure, say American Vybe before the show. Both are very good. But I think I like the live singing downsairs better than the show upstairs. We then went to japan, saw the Japanese baseball exhibit. It was very small, but well done. If you're a baseball fan, I recommedn it. I had a Kaki Gori (yum), and we watched the Drum show that they put on there. We then hit the store, and bought all sorts of cool stuff. Unfortunately they did not have any Gamera merch. We made do though. Very tempted to purchase a samursai sword. It would be fun to get that through the security check at MCO!
We then headed for Morocco, and looked around there. Watched a little of Morockin. Not bad. My little sister then parted ways, deciding she was way too exhausted to conmtinue. We made the big mistake of not heading back to resort during the day. After she left, we trudged around a bit, doing some shopping in Canada. We then headed back to Japan, becuase we wanted Sushi for dinner. It was OK, but we can get better here in NY, ebven on LI, so it probably wasn't worth it.
After dinner, the skies opened up, so we put our popnchos on & made our way for the exit. My dadf wanted to go into the Flower & Garden Festival showcase area (off Innoventions, near the bakery wherre we had breakfast(, but it was closed. I told him that he now has an excuse to come abck next year. We missed Illuminations, so there's another reason to go back (do I really need an excuse? I doubt it.
The music they play in the entrance palza was very haunting for some reason.
We were back at PO by 7:30 & rewady for a nice hot shower. After that, I took my mug & cell phone & headed over to the food court. I forgot to take the phone w/me like I told my GF I would, so I had abour 4 or 5 voice mails from her. Left her a message & sat by the windows in the FC hoping she'd be able to call back. She didn't
. That's the breaks w/her in L.A. Anyway, I waired a while, had some ice cream (the ice cream at Disney is great. Creamy, but not ovcerly dense like Ben & Jerry's can be). Wish they had more flavors, though. Went to the arcade for a while, then went to bed.
It was a good day, & I was sad to be done w/Epcot already, but that was the way I scheduled the trip. Really missed Hroizons though.
Best thing: Riding TT again & meeting the characters in the morning
Worst thing: Disappointing meals.
Thanks for reading (I know I can get a little long-winded), and any questions or comments are welcome!
