Day Four – Sat

We had decided that our mission today was to get a souvenir photograph of Lucas and Mickey, as we were really impressed with the quality of all our souvenir photos that we had bought so far. We had another GMF breakfast booked in the park but though we would check the hotel reception first to see if Mickey was appearing and he was! So we had our breakfast in the hotel instead – more croissants – and then got some fantastic photos with Mickey. Back to the park again – onto the rides for Lucas; Small World, Carousel, Buzz and we also did the baby switch for Star Tours as I hadn’t been on it yet. It’s a shame that they don’t have better restraints in this ride as I’m sure Lucas would have liked it but he would have been thrown about everywhere. A walk into Main Street and we found Mickey at his photo spot, all decked out in Halloween gear – this was the first day of the Halloween celebrations. So we queued for 20 mins for some more photos – I’m glad we did as one of these shots was the best one of all of Lucas and Mickey. Lunch was back in the Walt Disney Studios at the Backlot Express, very simple but food was nice – I had a Mickey shaped pizza! We popped back to the hotel to start the packing to see if we needed to buy an extra bag to carry our souvenirs back – and we did! The rest of the day was spent shopping and for dinner we went to the Plaza Gardens restaurant. They do an ‘All you can eat buffet’ for 20 euros for adults and 10 euros for kids 3 to 11 years, so Lucas didn’t pay. We made the most of it and kept piling our plates up! More shopping after dinner until almost closing time and on the way out we saw more characters. I apologise for not knowing who these are, they are two mice sisters I think. Anyway Lucas had his photo taken with one and then she took his hand and started leading him away, we weren’t sure what she was doing but she was going to her sister mouse so they could have a picture taken all together! It was so sweet!

Day Five – Sunday

We finished our packing, went for breakfast in the hotel, paid our large bill and checked out! We wanted to spend the morning in the park so we put our suitcases in the hotel storage and headed off. Lucas wanted to go on the ‘horseys’ (carousel) and we did Small World twice in a row as well. Ross took Lucas on Dumbo and we all went on Buzz for the last time. We saw Mary Poppins so we took Lucas for a photo, he gave her a kiss on the cheek and then went all shy! I think it’s because she’s an actual person not a character. We bought a few more souvenirs as Lucas was asleep and then waved goodbye to the park. I must admit I did feel a little bit sad knowing it was the last time we would go on the rides. We walked back to our hotel and had lunch in the Chuck Wagon restaurant there – another all you can eat buffet so we made sure we were all full up before we left. We collected our bags and only had 5 mins to wait before the shuttle bus picked us up. Back to the airport, checked in and still had over 2 hours to wait till boarding. Lucas was busy playing with some other children when he really should have been having a nap, and he still refused to sleep on the flight so he treated the other passengers to a full screaming fit during the last 15 mins of the flight! Next time I think I’ll take some sedatives for him!!! Still we got home safely, unpacked our bags and wearily hit the sack.

thanks for sharing your report, tracy! I enjoyed reading! The pics are fantastic! :thumbsup2 Love the ones with the castle and the ones with your toddler and the characters. Seems to me that your charming son is a character magnet.
