Day Two – Thurs

We had booked the 7.30am breakfast slot so we were up early and down for breakfast. I could easily become addicted to the croissants, they were scrumptious! Once we finished breakfast we walked through reception to go back to our room when we saw Goofy! When we looked on the board it lists two characters who are appearing that morning from 8am. So we stopped and took some photos of Lucas with Goofy, he didn’t seem scared at all which were pleased about. Back off to the park and we headed for Adventureland and Indiana Jones. Again only a minute or so wait and I found myself at the front on my own! I’m sad to say I was very disappointed with this ride as it was over far too soon, it was only about 15 seconds long! We all then went on the Pirates of the Caribbean which scared Lucas a bit as it was so dark and loud. From here we decided to take our first venture into Fantasyland where we spotted Winnie the Pooh! We queued up for about 15 minutes for Lucas to have his photo taken with him and as he walked up to Pooh he pretended to go shy and started rubbing his eyes and smiling! Pooh put his arms out to Lucas so he gave him a big cuddle and a kiss! The photographer took a photo of us all with Pooh as well and said we could view it at the Town Hall photo shop in Main Street after one hour. We then moved onto the Mad Hatters Teacups, we all loved this ride although we don’t really spin the cup very much! As soon as the ride finished Lucas looked at us and said ‘Again!’ The other rides we did were Pinocchio which was again a bit dark for Lucas and of the course THE ride for the kids – It’s A Small World. I’d read beforehand what people have said about the music, how catchy it is and that we’d be singing it all day but as we went into the ride I didn’t know what the fuss was about. But sure enough it got me and I was humming it for the rest of the day! This ride really has that magical feel about it, you could go round it ten times and still see something new each time. I think that’s why Lucas loved it so much, he could point out the things he knew and then would ask ‘What’s that?’ at loads of other things. The displays and little kids are amazing, really superbly done. We had lunch at Au Chalet de la Marionnette which was nice, I had burger and chips and Ross and Lucas had chicken nuggets and chips. We decided to head back to the hotel for a little break, Lucas fell asleep so we had an hour to ourselves, looking over what we’d bought and resting our feet! We did find the prices of souvenirs to be quite expensive but we had decided before we went not to worry as it was our first family holiday and wouldn’t be worried if we overspend! After Lucas has woken up we walked back to the park and Discoveryland where we saw Buzz Lightyear and a photographers queue. Ross took Lucas to queue up by the girls with them said that it had closed! We couldn’t believe it, Lucas was wearing his Buzz T-shirt that his auntie had bought him in Florida and he was so excited to see him! We begged and begged but they said they couldn’t do anything, so we asked what time he would be back tomorrow but they said this was his last day! We begged some more and they apologised and said they couldn’t really do anything as they had turned people away after us, which I completely understood. Ross said to them what if Lucas happened to walk under the ropes and they looked at us and at Lucas and Ross let him go! Buzz turned and saw Lucas and came straight over to him so the girls got the photographer to take some photos! We only got side on shots of Lucas holding Buzz’s hand but these were good enough for us. We thanked the girls and the photographer profusely! From here we went on Autopia, waited about 10 minutes for this, I kept laughing at Ross as his driving was terrible, and we also looked round the Captain Nemo. Back into Main Street and we saw Pluto walking around. It’s true what people say about rudeness, so many parents literally throw their children at the characters regardless of who else has been waiting. So I picked Lucas up and propelled us both at Pluto for Ross to take a photo! We also saw Minnie and a penguin (apologies for not knowing what the penguin is from!). For tea we headed into the village and to McDonalds.

:goodvibes I think the penguin is from Mary Poppins.

We got a couple of pictures of Buzz with our girls. We much preferred the characters you queued to meet too. The stdios were better for this though as the queues were much shorter.

Another great day. I definitely prefer the set queuing for characters :)
