Sorry it has taken me so long to get this up, but going back to work and real life has been harder than I thought it would be.
So anyway, day 4 dawns, bright and clear thankfully, after yesterday's heavy rain. We packed quite quickly and handed our bags into the luggage store at Santa Fe, put our room key into the box provided in reception and set off to walk along the canal for the last time this visit. We were at the bag check area just before 9 and by ten past 9 were sitting in Chalet de la Marionette for our Good Monring FantasyLand breakfast. Finishing that, we went out into the sunshine to ride on Peter Pan. We decided to walk over to Dumbo, when who should we see but Winnie the Pooh, just setting up for a meet and greet when the rope drops. My daughter was delighted to get a cuddle and autograph without having to endure a long wait in line. We then went on Dumbo and then, as 10 o'clock was approaching, we went into Discoveryland for a go on Buzz. The children went on Space Mountain before we all went over to Frontierland.
Unfortunately my sister was starting to feel unwell by now
but didn't want to slow us down, so for much of the rest of the day she sat and soaked up the sunshine, while we dashed around doing as many last-day rides as we could. Between us we went on Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, Cabane Des Robinsons, Big Thunder Mountain,Buzz Lightyear, Pirates of the Caribbean, It's a Small World and Pinocchio, as well as having lunch in the Pizzeria Belle Notte, doing some very important last minute SHOPPING and seeing Captain Jack Sparrow outside POTC. Apart from meeting us for lunch, my sister stayed resting, although she did get a good spot to watch the parade.
It was a lovely last day, but time caught up with us - it was 5.30 - the time we had set ourselves to leave the Park, get our luggage from the Disney Express counter and board the Eurostar. My poor sister thought the journey home was a nightmare with very excited and noisy children charging around everywhere
I think I must be a bit immune to constant noise (like somebody else on here - I've spent too many years working in Year One to be fazed by noise) so I thought it passed quite easily. Suddenly it was all over and we were back in Blighty and the magic was over for another year.
My general thoughts about the holiday: I had a fantastic time once again. Again we were really glad we booked our breakfast in the Park as that extra half hour ride in Fantasyland makes it worthwhile. We're still happy to opt for the Santa Fe - we spent so little time in the hotel that paying any extra for a bit more luxury would be a waste. We all loved riding Buzz for the first time. We enjoyed our first character meal (although not the lousy organisation in Cafe Mickey). We were really impressed at how easy the travel was with Eurostar and Disney Express.
Can't think of any negatives - apart from being sorry my sister got ill, but that was not the fault of DLRP (turns out it was flu, but she's better now).
Now roll on next time......
