We arrived to Ft Wilderness last Saturday afternoon and everything went smoothly (flight, check-in, magical express). After getting settled into out cabin (2400 loop), we went to get our golf cart and off to Mickey's Backyard BBQ. We had so much fun at the BBQ. The food was awesome and even my 12 yr old enjoying watching the cowboy do the rope tricks. My 6 yr old twin daughters were just in awe of the characters and one of them even made it on stage! We don't know how, but she did! They loved dancing with all the characters. It was a great first night at the Fort!

Our first full day we started off at Magic Kingdom and then later on hopped over to Hollywood Studios. My daughters loved Magic Kingdom. We ended up going 3 times during our stay. One morning I took them to breakfast as the castle and it was GREAT! There is something about being in that castle...I cried when they walked up to meet Cinderella for the first time! They got to see Snow White, Belle, Sleeping Beauty and Mary Poppins. After breakfast we headed right over to Ariel's exhibit and got right in. The day before people were waiting up to 90 min. for her autograph. Tuesday night we went to the MNSSHP. It was fun, but because we had already been to MK 2 times, we had done most of the rides. We managed to make it until midnight! However, when we arrived back to Ft. my hubby realized he had lost the golf cart key....so off to the nearest bus stop! They gave us a knew one the next morning and did not charge us.

On Wednesday, we had to take my son to the dr. He had a sore throat that started on Sunday night, so we figured we better take him. A shuttle came and got him and my husband right at the cabin and took them to a prompt care service in or around downtown Disney. They had to wait a while to be seen, but the shuttle brought them back. He had strep throat! I couldn't believe it, but he was a trooper.

One night we waited in the rain for Fantasmic and it was worth it! Luckily it wasn't cancelled. I talked to some people that went one night last week and sat in the rain waiting and it started, but they cancelled it 15 minutes into the show!!

We got to ride the new Toy Story ride twice! Our last day we got HS right when it opened and while me and the kids got right in line and only had to wait 20 minutes, my husband got fast passes for us to right it again later.

The kids also loved the things at Epcot. Soarin and Test Track were huge hits. They also loved the Spaceship Earth ride because of the picture they take and superimpose it on the bodies that they show at the end! They rode it twice so they could make funny faces!!

I rode Small World and Peter Pan 3 times with my daughters! Those were their favorite rides at MK.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to do a lot of the things at FW. We did swim one day while I did a load of laundry for $7!! I had packed enough clothes, but it rained almost every night and the clothes that got wet were stinky...couldn't stand them stinkin up the cabin!

We loved the cabin...it was so nice to come back to such a peaceful place after being in the madness for 12 hours. We saw deer and an armadillo one night. My daughters were quite taken with the lizards/geckos everywhere! They made me take pics of them!

We loved driving around the Ft. and checking out all the decorations!

We're hoping to go back in 3 years!

Sounds like you had a great trip. Time to start planning the next one.:thumbsup2

Nice report, but you shouldn't wait three years to come back!

I know...but taking a family of 5 is a small fortune! This trip including airfare, basic dining plan, and 7 day hopper along with tix to MNSSHP, golf cart and stroller rental was around $7000. It will take us 3 years to save up!

I have a family of five too (I even have a set of twin daughters just like you).

How about a tent?

Or cook half of your meals at the cabin. Or get a Disney Visa and use the points. Or drive. See this is what happens when you go....you keep wanting to go again. Most of us make some compromise to go more often. For us, we eat some meals in the Cabin, go when the specials are offered, use our Disney Visa points and if I can talk my hubby into it, we will drive.

I am glad you had a great trip. Any pictures?????

We'd love to see pics! :thumbsup2

Glad you had a good time at FW. We were hooked after our first trip there. We are a family of 5 also, but live a bit closer. We actually pull our own camper down. Even though its about a 9 hour pull, we try to go often! :thumbsup2 Hopefully next trip you can spend some more time relaxing at the Fort! :goodvibes
