Hey everyone, this is really my first trip report. I hope you enjoy reading the good and the bad. This is only the opinions of my family and I. The bad is not intended to offend anyone. So here goes...

The cast is myself (47) DH (48) and wonderful DD (22) who has just graduated from college, this trip was for her..

We arrived at CSR Saturday May 27...Beautiful weather, we couldn't have wished for anything better..It was "hot", but gorgeous after coming from the cold mountains of WV. We loved it....

We arrived around 1:00 and checked in, the line to check in was long, but we didn't have to wait long, as they instructed us to go over to the concierge desk. The CM was very nice, and as we had requested a non smoking, top floor room. We got it...Casitas 2..The room was very clean with a swan towel animal in the window. Betty was our mousekeeper, and very nice, we talked all during the week. Very helpful, in anything that we needed.

Our room was not that far from the bus stop, and was close to a quiet pool, which was rather noisy for 2 days, they were repairing a sidewalk beside the pool. But that didn't deter us from enjoying it.. It was very relaxing and not at all crowded..We visited the "main pool" but never stayed. We liked the quiet pool the best.

There was a Elk's convention going on when we arrived, but the only time we really encountered them was on our way to the PM.. We walked thru alot of people smoking and drinking, and yes they were loud. But they seemed to be in the area closest to the convention center..Sorry, I'm not that familiar with the resort and don't know the name of the area. But we were never bothered by noise at night.

We walked around the resort. It is beautiful.. We would not hesitate to stay here again..

Now with the reviews of the restaraunts we ate at..

On Saturday, when we arrived we went to the PM for lunch, we didn't want to eat a large meal so we went to the bakery side and asked about the snack credits on the DP. If we were restricted to any one area...NO... "Everything" in the bakery area was open to our surprise...We all got the cinnamon bun with the nuts...Oh my goodness...They are good....and huge...We ate there, and went back to the room for a quick nap before our ADR's at WGP.

WGP's, this restauraunt is very loud..We had ADR's for 7:00 and waited 30 minutes before we were seated. I ordered the WGP steak, which was over cooked and tough. No I didn't send it back...Should have, but didn't.. I don't like to complain about food.
DH and DD both had the fillet mignon which they said was "ok". They both also had the crab cakes for appetizers, which they loved, and I had the classic ceasar salad. Two hearts of romaine with a little bit of parmesan cheese sprinkled over them, and just a hint of dressing...I was not impressed..
For dessert DD ordered the fondue. She still raves about this,,loved it...DH had the choc. cheesecake which he liked..and I had the creme brulee, very good.. The meal would have cost $174.00. We probably won't try this restaraunt again.. Sorry guys...Just my opinion.

Sunday, we got up early and did the segway tour. Really if you have the chance to do this...by all means do so....You won't regret it.. We loved it...
We ate lunch at the Lotus Blossom Cafe...Please,,, don't waste your CS credits here...we all had the BBQ chicken with rice...not good...
For dinner we had ADR's for Kona's at 6:45, and arrived 15 minutes early ,and was seated at exactly 6:45... For appetizers I ordered the Kona salad with bleu cheese and almonds with vinagrette(wonderful) DH had the crab cakes (again) loved them...and DD ordered the Pot Stickers, which she did not like. I tasted them, and have to agree.
For entrees DH ordered the Beef teriyaki with mashed potatoes, which he loved. I ordered the Macadamia nut Mahi Mahi (sp) with couscous (sp). it was wonderful, and DD ordered the Shrimp scallops, which were a little rubbery..for dessert DH and DD ordered the chocolate lava cake, and I got the fudge nut torte... Oh my, these desserts was sinfully wonderful.. Would eat here again in a heartbeat..Wonderful service also...

Monday. Lunch at Flame Tree BBQ..It was hot, and we really didn't have much of an appetite...but some how seemed to manage to gobble down every bite.l0l....DD, and DH, both ordered the BBQ chicken, baked beans, and corn on the cob with choc cake for dessert...I ordered the beef BBQ sandwich, with the frozen lemonade for dessert....Everything here was good..The only thing is, you have to sit outside, and something bit me on the leg, and whelped up. But would do it again, if we had the chance..
Dinner was at Boma's, at 6:30, no waiting...seated us right away...I have to say this was our least favorite meal...Interesting, but would not eat here again..Tryed the Zebra Domes, and did not think they were all that great...We would go back to Kona's before we would eat at this rest. again. Sorry guys...

Tuesday. Ate breakfast at the PM. DD and I both ordered the southwestern omelet, and DH got the scrambled eggs with bacon and potatoes..Wow...this was alot of food..WE could easily have shared one omelet between my daughter and I...DH gobbled his down, no, he wouldn't share. (ha)
We skipped lunch, since we had such a big breakfast..
Dinner was at LeCelliers, ADR's for 6:30, and was running late, we didn't get there till 6:45...No problem...we waited about 5 minutes and were seated..The pretzel bread is wonderful..
For appetizers, I got the beef steak tomato stack with shi take (sp) mushrooms and spinach drizzled with balsalmic(sp) vinegar..Loved it.... Dh ordered the shrimp coctail with wasabi slaw, and loved it...DD ordered the cheddar cheese soup... Wonderful..
Entrees, I ordered the fillet mignon with mushrooms on a bed of couscous (wonderdul) and cooked perfectly...Medium well..DH and DD ordered the 14oz NY strip with yukon potatoes...Also cooked perfectly, and so tender...would melt in your mouth...
For dessert hubby and I shared the chefs choice..creme brulee, choc cake, and raspberry sorbet..and DD got the creme brulee...all wonderfull...Would recommend this rest. to anyone....GREAT....

Wednesday..Ate at the PM for a early lunch.. skipped breakfast...I ordered the chefs special "meat" pizza....way to big for 1 person. But very good, the sauce could have been a little more spicy, but good..DH got the calzone, and DD ordered the sweet and sour chicken with egg roll..She did not eat all of it,, it was to much for 1 person...You would think we would have learned by now to share, but everything is so tempting, and our eyes were always to big for our tummys.. But yes,, we ordered dessert..I had the Tiramasu, DH had strawberry shortcake, and DD got a "BIG" choc. chip cookie.
For dinner we ate at San Angel's Inn...Another rest. we would not eat at again..I have no idea what I ordered. This was the rest. of choice from our daughter, she loves Mexican Food, and even she said she would not eat here again. Like I said, I don't know what I ordered, it was chicken over noodles with cheese sauce. I took a few bites, and that was all I wanted...Dh ordered the steak enchilada, I think....he ate his... and DD ordered the same...she took a few bites, and we were finished with this rest..we didn't order dessert...Would not go back again...even though we were seated next to the river as I had requested. It was dark, but overlooking the river was pretty...just the food was not good....IMOP..

Thursday. Breakfast at the PM..Love this place...Everything is cooked when you order it. with the exception of the scrambled eggs, bacon sausage, and potatoes. which is what we ate again....and loved it....
Dinner- Ohanas..I have to say...I was a little anxious about this place, as I had read good and bad reviews...but...we had a wonderful time here....the food is wonderful, and plentyful....Loved those sausages, and that turkery..
They recognized our daughter here as graduating from college, they called out her name and made her come up front and lead the parade around the rest. It was great,, yes it embarrassed her,, but what is parents for, if not the embarrass our children...(she loved it) We would recommend this rest. to everyone...OUr server was great, kept our drink glasses full, without even having to ask him to....Just great food....

Friday...Early lunch at MGM at the BACklot. rest..ordered hamburgers...just your ordinary hamburgers...nothing to brag about...
Dinner at Whispering Canyon...Wonderful server (Little mama), DH got the skillet, and DD and I ordered the chicken with pasta..We enjoyed ours, but DH did not care for the skillet that well. Yes he ate it... but this rest. was not one we would probably eat at again...Yes, they have good entertainment, they did the catsup thing, and when they sneezed they blew the straws all over the table...but the food was not outstanding to us...sorry guys, again....

Saturday...Early lunch MGM again....Pizzafari....this was good...I would eat here again...
Dinner was as the Poly Lua....8:00 reservations...the food was ok..not outstanding, just ok....now the show on the other hand...at first, I thought, oh no,,, but then it got better, when they actually started the authentic hawaiian dances...wow...we loved this part...my daughter fell in love with one of the hawaiian dancers....which all I can say is...these guys must work out all of the time, I haven't seen a six pack like that in years...(he he)
We would probably do this again, just for the show....expensive show....but love those dancers...... ;)

Sorry this is so long, and I have more rest. reviews.. but will have to write more later.
I hope you have enjoyed reading my reviews, and please don't hesitate to critique my wording...If you have any recommendations for my next report, please let me know...thanks...Nancy

Thanks for the reviews. I'm in the same boat with you on Boma's for dinner. It was good, interesting, but not GREAT. I'd eat there again in a few years, but it's not really "appointment dining" in my book...and I agree with you on the overrated zebra domes!

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Same thoughts about Boma as you too but, it was my husband's favorite since he loves soup. Kona was my favorite, that Kona Salad was amazing!! We had a wonderful lunch at WCC, the nachos were great. We were there some of the same dates, we left June 1st.

Thanks for the reviews -- really helping me make my choices. Would you do Ohana again for dinner?

Thanks for the reviews - we will be going to KONA and LeCellier for the first time, really glad to keep reading great reviews on both. We are not BOMA fans either. I must say I am starting to re-think our decision to return to San Angel, it's always been DS16's favorite :bitelip:
I know I'm off subject but what is a segway tour? :confused3

Great food review thanks for taking the time to post it.

Segway tour is a prebooked special program at Epcot. Two hour morning tour, first half teaching you how to ride the Seqway people mover, second half touring the WS which has not yet been opened to the general public.

We did it twice last month and LOVED it. Look into it (search SEGWAY).

We were there the same time as you too! I agree with WCC. My DH and I both got the skillet and were underwhelmed by it. It looked great but the ribs were fatty and had very little meat on them. The chicken was OK, but only if you dipped it into the BBQ sauce. I did like the cole slaw and the first helping of mashed potatoes they brought. The second helping of potatoes were hard and not very good. The cornbread was very hard too. My DH liked the baked beans but he didn't say too much about the rest of the meal. My DS7 cleaned his mac & cheese plate and had seconds on the bottomless shakes (we all did). Many times when the servers were yelling something, we had no idea what they were saying. The pony races were cute and they all received a wooden nickel. Cute idea. If we visit WCC again, we'll order something other than the skillet.

Thanks for the great reviews. What does WGP stand for?

tweetylori, I'm pretty sure PM stands for Pepper Market.

I was surprised your DD didn't like the potstickers at Kona, as everyone else raves about them. They're called duck potstickers, so is it actually duck meat inside of them? If so, then I wouldn't like them either!

I racked my brain, too, about WGP, and now I believe it's Wolfgang Puck. I'm guessing it's the cafe on the West Side. :goodvibes
