Am still planning on ‘kidnapping my Dbride’ the 3rd weekend in October. On Friday, October 24th, we will land at John Wayne around 12Noon. Since we will not check any luggage…am sure we can get to Disney property by/before 1 P. I was contemplating spending the afternoon touring DownTown Disney and taking in an evening movie. Saturday, we have lunch reservations for Club 33 (thank you all for sharing some ‘pixie dust’), I assume we will spend the entire day at Disneyland. I am concerned we won’t have time to leisurely enjoy both parks on this day.

I am rethinking about going to the movies and buying tickets for Mickey’s Trick or Treat Party. My question is…will ‘adrenaline junkies’ enjoy themselves? Are enough of the rides open to make this worth while? Also, since this will be a ‘surprise’ for my Dbride…we won’t be dressing up…will we feel ‘out of place’?

Your suggestions and input is much appreciated.

Go to the party. You can see a movie any time. We took our kids last year and are going again this year. I am not a big DCA fan. But this is the one night it feels magical (that's what the park is missing magic). Anyway, with all of the special, lighting, music and performers it feels so special.
We did not wear costumes, only about 1/2 of the adults were in costumes. Since it is a had ticket event the lines where not bad.

Have fun!:thumbsup2

Go for Mickey's Trick or Treat! It is great fun and a perfect time to ride Tower of Terror and Screamin'

I don't think you'll feel out of place not wearing costumes BUT I also think it would be worth wearing them. My STB-Wife and I wear cat ears (mine are black, hers are tiger striped) and pin-on tails with regular clothes. We are going to do makeup this year, too I think.

Even a simple costume is fun, makes you feel less out of place trick-or-treating, and makes for great character interaction.

Plus, I think you would get major brownie points for thinking up a costume and bringing it as part of the surprise!

Go! Have fun!! If you want to "dress up" buy Mickey & Minnie ears...maybe buy the Mickey ears on the top hat and Minnie ears with the veil...Ohh that would be CUTE!!!!!!

I guess...using DBride is false advertising as I’ve been happily married man for 23 years. Our anniversary is the week prior to this trip.

Any others with experience in attending these events...did you have a good time...get your fill of the rides they normally offer during normal operating hours?
