We've always planned our trips to the World in early to mid October, but are seriously thinking of also taking a trip in either February, March or April to break up our dreary, cold, Canadian winter. Unfortunately since we've never been to Florida at that time of year, we're looking for advice on which would be the best time to go. Any and all information on weather, crowds, times to avoid during these months would be appreciated.

Hi,

You definitely want to avoid President's Day week (Feb 17-24), mid- March (lots os Spring Breakers), and the first two weeks of April (Easter). Those will be the most crowded weeks.

If you are trying to avoid cold, then I would also avoid February. Though the weather may be nice in February, it is also possible that you could have mornings near freezing and chilly afternoons.

I can let you know when I get back...I'll be there 2/9-2/16...from what I've been told it will be cool and possibly even cold at night. I guess compared to the Ohio weather I will be leaving it will be a nice change. Also many people have told me that they have went swimming during Feb, so at least at some point it must be somewhat warm. Sean

I have been in early Feb and the crowds were very reasonable. There were days we had to wear a light jacket. Not swimming weather for some. A friend of mine went late Feb this past year, after Pres week. She had great weather and she said crowds were low. Good luck with your decision. :)

I think March would be the best time to go. Kids have off from school in February from the 17-24 and in April for Easter from the March 29- April 8th (Our schools are closed Holy Thursday, Good Friday and from Palm Sunday through Easter) Its a 11 day break for us so thats a good time to go to Disney. If you don't want crowds, go in March. February (Presidents week) can be very busy as is Easter. I still have to work around my dd's school calender to go on vacations.

I went in the beginning of March 2 years in a row. The crowds weren't bad, not not crowded, decent. The weather, both years it was actually very warm. We never needed warm clothes. I packed pants just in case, but they just clogged up the suitcase. Hope this helps. :)

Thanks everyone for all the advice ...

Love to hear about your experience when you're back.
