Trip Number Nine ~ It's Christmastime!

The FP+ does look interesting. Can't wait to hear how it all works out for you.

I'd love to know how it works for a parade.
Is it 6 days now is that what I read??!!! OMG you must be so excited!!!!!

Happy 6 Days, Shelly!:goodvibes I can't believe how close you and Jo are!:cool1::cool1:

So, we ended up saving a bit with Christmas shopping, and I convinced DH to go back to the Poly. Yes, I know, I'm crazy.:rotfl2:

I was able to switch over our balance that we paid for the Dolphin to the Poly, and the difference in the two actually wasn't as much as I thought it would be. So, there is no more changing, unless I want a fee charged to me.:rotfl: I am so excited, and so are the girls. DH is too. My nieces can't wait either! We booked a standard view, and I am hoping for a good room location! I have no idea where to request, do you have any suggestions?popcorn::

I love the way the new Test Track looks! Totally my style. I liked the old TT okay, but nothing special. Now I'm super excited to ride the refurbed ride!

I had read somewhere that the FP+ for MSEP is not really good. You still have to arrive almost one hour early if you want to be at the front of the reserved section, instead of a few people deep. What's the point of using a FP for that, if you can show up at the exact same time and be anywhere you want along Main Street???

Even though I've already told myself to just pack for all possible weather and temperatures, I know I'll be driving myself crazy looking at the weather website in the days before the trip. Not just the Orlando weather, but the local one as well, hoping for no snowstorm or freezing rain.

hey girls!! I know you are packed Shelly...Jo? How bout you honey? Sorry I have been missing all this fun....ds16 is still recouperating from surgery! Hopefully he will make it to school tomorrow....he's GOT to get his assignments and start catching up~they are great about all that, but it's still gonna have to be done and putting it off isn't going to help....
I had a headache today, but I think it's because we have a cold front coming in tomorrow~pack y'alls excedrine and migraine busters!!!!! Can't have that at Disney!! As far as the weather~just pack shorts and tee shirts, a couple of capri pants and a good jacket...you'll be fine if it does get chilly with all the running around we all do! I am so excited for y'all...I wish I was there with y'all....it's been 2 weeks and I am ready to go back!! LOL...of course, we have had a stressful 2 weeks since we got here!! I was hoping for the kids we could catch a soft opening of Test Track, but we never did....

Oh my gosh, I can't believe how far behind I got in just a few days!

Congrats on being picked for the new FP+ :thumbsup2 Good thing you are a Disney expert because the whole process of deciding when/where/how/why/who plus doing it all online would have me :crazy2: Not to mention being able to go back and change it. I would probably end up messing the whole thing up and having no FP's!

The idea sounds really good, though, and if the crowds are big, you'll be set! So the plan is for it to be offered to everyone at some point?

Sorry to hear that you and Jodi have been having headaches lately. I hope you get them out of the way before this weekend!

Jodi, I didn't realize that you had never seen the Osborne Lights before. How fun to see them for the first time! I would probably be like you and cry when all the lights and music start.

Those weather forecasts are crazy! It's not like you can just decide not to check them, since what you need to pack depends on the weather. It has been really warm here recently and supposed to stay that way all week. It's not easy to get in the spirit of Christmas decorating when the A/C is running. But it would be nice to have some mild temps when you're in Disney and leave the jackets back in your room.

I can't believe your trips are almost here! I am so excited for you girls!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Happy 5 Days Shelly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time for me to get out the packing pup to speed myself along-- 4 days!

Hope your DS is better soon! I didn't know he was having surgery. How was your trip? Fantastic???
pixiedust:

And of course Shelly is all packed up! She's so proper. :flower3:
You know I'm not packed yet. I won't be fully packed until Mark is saying get in the car we will be late. And I will inevitably leave something behind. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: I cry over everything anymore. It's just stupid. So I'm fully expecting to cry at the OL! I will be so happy if I don't!

Thanks for the details on FP+! Very interesting. I think I might like it soley for TSM as on our day at HS on Nov. 20th (yes Thanksgiving week...very busy) we arrived at park opening and had terrible lines just to get into the park and went straight to the back for fastpasses, and the time it was spitting out was already for 3:15 p.m. and the stand-by line was an hour. DH and DS waited and rode ended up only waiting half an hour. I think they inflate the times some to discourage people from getting in line. We then gave away our FP's to a family coming into the park when we left around 2 p.m. since by that time I don't think there were any left.

I know, it's coming up fast!!

I can't believe you changed resorts. Again!! You are so funny. :lmao: I was looking forward to your thoughts on the Dolphin!! :upsidedow

I think Somoa or Tokelau would be great locations. I'm hoping for one of them. :wizard: Jodi stayed on the other side of the GCH and really liked it, but I forgot which longhouse it was.....Maybe she can fill you in when she gets home later!

I love the way the new Test Track looks! Totally my style. I liked the old TT okay, but nothing special. Now I'm super excited to ride the refurbed ride!

I suppose the new TT will be okay. I just really liked it before, so I am scared! :scared:

Good. Then it's probably a good thing that I didn't waste a FP+ on the parade. That's exactly what I was afraid of - having to get there super early anyway to be up front. How dumb. There is even an option to use a FP+ for 'preferred Wishes viewing'...What the heck is that??? You can see Wishes from just about anywhere. :confused3

It's been really warm here for this time of year, but the temps are supposed to drop starting tomorrow. But luckily I didn't see any snow or freezing rain for the weekend, so hopefully we won't have any issues getting to the airport and taking off on time! :wizard:

:headache:

How's he feeling today?

I told the kids last night and they all said in tandem OH NO POOR THING! Drew said that is the worst!! Belle said Can he still ride Test Track?? :rotfl:
And MC said That kid is so dang cute, I feel so bad for him.

Is he drinking lots?
Tell him Nurse Jo said to drink a ton, eat some popsicles and if no fever Ice Cream and work super hard on getting better bc he has somewhere special to be this weekend!

Everyone here is sending Pixie Dust!!!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

PS-- I stayed Fiji, marina view and looked over the boats and had a GREAT view of the Contemporary and the pool and lake. Perfect location-- took about a minute to get to the GCH from the room!
I also would love to stay in Tahiti--- it is so pretty on that side. And those two would be my choices for GV although I think Tokelau looks good too.

::yes::

Hey Shawna! Hope your DS is recovering nicely from his surgery. :flower3: And that he gets all caught up at school!! I've got one home from school today. So now he's got today to catch up on and then 5 days next week. :faint: And he's not the one I am worried about getting behind, it's the other one! :upsidedow

My head is actually okay today so far. I hope yours is too!

That stinks that you guys didn't get a soft opening of TT. I've heard that they haven't been giving too many sneak peaks. Guess they want the grand opening to be GRAND!!

Oh my gosh, I can't believe how far behind I got in just a few days!

Yeah, the whole FP+ thing might have been pretty confusing to someone who doesn't sit around talking about WDW all day everyday!!:rotfl: I was thinking that when I was doing it -- that some people probably didn't even understand what they were being offered. There wasn't a whole lot of explanation that came along with it.

I'm just hoping this whole thing doesn't make the FP lines longer. :scared1:

Yes, I think the plan is to maybe offer it to all guests staying on-site. I'm not sure. I read an article about it months ago, but I don't remember all the details.

The Osborne Lights didn't make me cry. IDK why. They are super amazing. ::yes:: Just not a crying moment, it's more exciting! But I will admit that every time I watch Wishes my eyes get watery!! And my kids make fun of me! :rotfl:

It's been very warm here too! Mid to upper 60's today. That's not the norm for Dec here!
Going to check the Orlando weather next..........

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Happy 5 Days Shelly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get packing!!

Yes, I am very happy to have the FP+ for our DHS day, especially considering that we aren't getting there at rope drop that day. Sometimes it's hard enough to get to TSM at RD! :faint: That sounds like a crazy morning you had there!! Nice that your DH & DS didn't end up having to wait the full hour though! My DH and DS waited an hour for it at RD one time on our last Nov trip. Crazy. :crazy2:

He's about the same. Just looks and sounds awful. But he's not really one to lay around, so he's bored. :upsidedow He feels fine, other than his throat. His ears are fine and he's not congested. Just running a very low fever.

I just told him what Belle said and he is laughing!! :rotfl: And then he said -- why did they change TT, it was great the way it was!!! I hear ya buddy. ::yes::

He is drinking a ton! Not eating too much though. Not sure what to make him for lunch....

Thanks for the Pixie Dust, we need it!!! :goodvibes

you should make him chicken noodle soup of course sometimes the hot liquid will help sore throat's not mine but the kids and my hubby swear by it.hope your boy is better soon our trip is at christmas time and my hubby is sick and I told him he has 17 days to get better:lmao:o here is some pixie dustpixiedust:pixiedust: just in case:lmao:

I'm back! How's the Boy this afternoon?

What did you make him for lunch?

What have you been doing all day?

I got the hair did, (I know that isn't proper English but it sounds so dang funny to say) then went to the grocery store and got GF protein bars and granola.

My hair lady said What is wrong with you today, you're so quiet.
:lmao:

The whole time she was doing my hair I was thinking about everything I could be doing instead.

:upsidedow
