Not sure if this is the right board to post in but here is my question:

In the past when I have gone to Disney (generally Sept) I have never bought trip insurance however I am making a quick trip in Jan and am wondering if I should...

The trip was prompted by a special intro airfare at a newly reopened airport where I live (Worcester, MA - $39 each way). The problem is that the airport runs only 1 flight to Orlando on Sundays and only 1 return flight home on Thursdays...therefore, if for whatever reason - and I am thinking weather - a snow storm or blizzard - the flight on Sunday cannot take off or the flight on Thursday cannot land (it is more Sunday that I am concerned about) - then I will not be able to fly into Orlando

If I can't get out of Massachusetts to Orlando (and there is no "next flight" I could be booked on because the next flight would be Thursday) then what happens to my WDW package that I would have already paid for (room, tickets, dining plan) -- do I lose that money??

If I have trip insurance would it cover me for weather?

Thanks
Any info would be appreciated!

Yes, you would lose your package deposit. Mine is $200 1-5 days out, $100 6-44 days out. You can buy insurance from Disney up until the day your final payment is due. I believe they cover for weather, but I would check with them. The insurance costs almost what our deposit is, so we didn't get it. If you are looking for coverage for extra hotel nights due to delays, medical, or baggage coverage, it's a good thing.

You can get less expensive trip insurance through www.insuremytrip.com, but I think you need to buy it within 30 days of your initial reservation being made.

Since it seems your going in the winter, I would suggest the insurance. I just paid a bunch of $$$ for my upcomming Cancun trip in January and since I am in Chicago there is always that chance of missing this because of snow. I paid about $125 for my insurance and it covers almost anything that could come up.
