I'm not sure which board this should be on so I ended up here. We have never purchased trip insurance before so I am clueless. Who has the best plans and the best price? Does it usually cover the trip if you have to cancel at the last minute due to job obligations? If you have to file a claim is it a hassel to get your money back and does it take a long time?
My job is a safe bet to be able to get off as long as I give sufficient notice. The daughter and son-in-law's jobs are harder to get time off from. Hers is tourist related since we live close to the beach and spring break thru summer is their busy time as you would expect. That is also the only time we can go without taking kids out of school. I am mainly looking for something that would over the cost of our lodging as we are buying our tickets from Undercover Tourist.
