My family including my 3yo special needs son will be doing Disney Land and Sea this fall. DS has a medically involved syndrome (with multiple disabilities, etc, not simple) but is generally happy and healthy and has a g-tube.

I want to make sure we have the right travel insurance for our trip.

I honestly am not well traveled enough in my adult life to know what kind of travel insurance I need. Especially since the cruise is in international waters and docks in the Bahamas.

Can anyone help me with this, it is SOOOOO complicated.

Thanks very much!!! Any other general advice is great too as this is my first Disney World Trip ever! I do know about the card I can get to have his stroller have wheelchair access and he may need some of the other special services, we'll wait till fall to see...:laundy:

We usually get TravelGuard ins - with medical option. Had to cancel once, and cruise was refunded. Don't travel w/o insurance.

Whatever type of insurance you get, make sure you have one that covers "pre-existing conditions". Not all policies do.

We use Travelex for our clients, they are very good with claims. Their budget "basic" policy does NOT cover pre-existing conditions, but their other policies do if purchased within 21 days of your first deposit.

For any trip insurance, read the conditions and coverages carefully, they vary greatly. Know what you are covered for.

Just figured out today is day 21. I hope we can purchase the new plan still. Am looking into it...
