Trip Insurance

Do most disers get trip insurance through Disney OR do most go elsewhere?

If you do go elsewhere, can someone point me in the right direction?

I've only had insurance once and I got it at insuremytrip.com. They had a lot of plans and it was pretty reasonable.

Disney's insurance is reasonably priced, covers your whole trip (even if you don't book your air through Disney) and covers certains ages (4 1/2 for a fact) for free. I have heard great things about how helpful they are when you need them. I had occasion to call them while at AKL two days ago due to our flight being cancelled for the Northeast snow storm. They were great, explained the amount we would be entitled to if we had to stay longer and even said "we have (I think it was something like 1500) people waiting to help you and other's make changes in your flights and plans."

I buy mine from Travel Guard...travelguard.com
They have several plans to pick from and if you purchase within 15 days of your initial deposit it includes extra coverages for pre-exisiting medical conditions. My husband previously had cancer so we always have to get the coverage which covers pre-exisiting condition....even though he is now cancer free it could still be considered a pre-existing condition.

In all honesty just price out your options and compare coverages.

We get the insurance through Disney when we book directly through them and AAA when we book through them. Have never had to use it, so don't know how user friendly everything is. I will say our trip last month our luggage went to San Francisco and it was almost three days to get it to Orlando. Our bell services manager comped our room $$ to get whatever we needed. Try getting that at the hotel around the corner!
