Has anyone ever purchased cruise and insurance thru AAA? Is it different than DCL insurance? Is it priced the same-per person and are children charged for insurance also?

Thanks-getting ready to book our first cruise and keep coming up with question!!! This board is GREAT!!!!!!!!

Yes, I purchase the AAA travel insurance when I book my cruise thru their travel department.

It is a little different than DCL's insurance.

The cost depends on the price of your cruise. I think it was $106 for each adult on a 7 day cruise and $49 for a 3 day cruise and somewhere in between for the 4 day cruise. Yes, children are charged the same as adults, at least for my DGrDs 10 and 12

One big difference is that if you purchase the insurance within 7 days of booking your cruise, they will waive the pre-existing conditions clause.

It's underwritten by National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA. They are one of the American International Group companies.

Mine is thru AAA South, could be different in other locations. I've never had a claim but I do know that they are excellent at collecting the premiums. :D
