I was wanting to know who you buy your trip/vacation insurance thru when you plan a vacation?

Always in the past I have bought it with the company I used to plan my trip. This year I have yet to purchase vacation/cruise insurance. I need to do this. The only reason I can see we do not get to go on the cruise will be if a hurricane is hitting and we cannot make it to the port.

Access America.

On my first cruise, I booked directly through DCL.

Cost was $396 four for people (2 adults, 2 kids).

Found out (Through this board) that Access America was actually the carrier DCL used, and to go through them directly.

ALSO found out (Through this board) that there was a deal were kids under 18 were FREE.

Booked it with them (Cancelled DCL) and new cost was only about $160!!!!!

What good would advice be without a link.

MAKE SURE you get the free kids deal, if you have 'em.

Enjoy.

We need to buy our insurance as well ... besides the hurricane issue, we also have the issue of cancelling if an elderly relative passes away right before the cruise starts (or gets seriously ill) ... there's also the (slim) chance of one of us getting so sick or injured that we cannot cruise ... I just won't cruise without insurance.

We typically go with Travel Guard for our insurance.

Wow that is cheap. I just got a quote and the highest coverage for our short cruise is only $81!!!

Thanks Jim!!
