We're doing a combo trip of a cruise and Harry Potter World over Thanksgiving. We usually use insuremytrip.com for cruise insurance. Not sure how to book the insurance for the combo trip, though. We haven't purchased anything for the Harry Potter part of the trip yet, but we have made a deposit on the cruise, which means we need to get insurance soon to cover preexisting conditions. So, do we add on the approximate cost of the Harry Potter portion of the trip-- hotel and tickets-- even though we haven't booked that yet?

Tough question. I would call whomever you choose to go with directly and ask how to proceed. I had a similar issue when we booked a room by renting DVC points but hadn't booked flights or anything else yet. Flights weren't even open for the dates I wanted and we didn't book them for several months after. When I called, the company I used had me estimate the cost of the rest.

We're taking a similar trip right after Thanksgiving. I used the actual cruise cost + an estimate for flights/hotels, etc.

We have insurance on our credit card so we don't buy it separately.

FYI it's not called Harry Potter World. That's like calling the Magic Kingdom Fantasyland.

I would include all of the expected costs that would be non-refundable if you had to cancel last minute. IIRC, I read on insuremytrip.com that if you need to adjust the amount of insurance at a later date, you can. I would email them to confirm and also to have it in writing.
