i know, i know...it's all been asked...but here it goes...(and i just don't have the time to do the research, so i'm hoping some of you can help...cuz i know you are all very well informed in all these areas!)

i will purchase trip insurance, just don't know from who/where. anyone can recommend one? i know there are several out there, but like i said, don't really have time to search. and i'd like to settle this matter before final payment.

we're going on the west coast cruise, does not need air/flight, 4 people, 2 adults, 2 children.

really appreciate this! thank you so much! :flower:

We went with Travel Guard...If you check out insuremytrip.com like the privious poster noted...they are on there. What I have found with them is their prices are good and seems to have good coverage. They were recomened from our TA...she said she has had little to no problems with them and claims (Unlike the coverage by Disney)...She didn't say Disney didn't stand behind the coverage...just Travle Guard covered more/better. We had to make sure we had good Pre-existing condition coverage...and they did.

Did some comparison shopping through insuremytrip.com and went w/ Travelex Lite...loved it...worked great for our family and was pretty cheap!

we've been very happy with the coverage and benefits of CSA Travel Protection.....This is one of the companies featured on the insuremytrip.com website

We also used Travelex through insuremytrip.com. Also adds kids for free. I originally set it up for just the 4-day cruise and the cost thereof -- quoted $99 (2 adults, 2 children). That was already lower than other quotes, but then I also included the cost of the airfare and expanded the dates to our entire 11-day trip -- and the quote was still $99! So of course I took it!

thanx for all the info...and for the websites! i love insuremytrip! it's great to see all those companies & their coverage all at once, so i can make the comparisons!

for those who used travelex...i'm hoping not to have to make a claim...but if you did, and when you did, was there a problem? travelex had the cheapest rate, with what we need...but if the company had problems paying out, or that they were giving a big hassel, i'd just rather pay a bit more, if (and again, hoping i'd never have to use it!), i have to get a claim...

and another question...would you get insurance if you don't have to fly? i'm thinking...we'd only drive for 45 minutes to port, we won't lose our luggage, cuz they'd be in the car with us. and we have medical insurance? or is the "safety net" of the "unknown" a good reason to get insurance?

again, thanx a lot! really appreciate it! i knew you were all just a wealth of information! :flower:

I would think Trip insurance would be a good thing to get even if your not flying..and you have your own medical insurance. The emergency flight part of the insurance plan could be worth it alone not to mention if ANYTHING should happen right before your cruise or beween the time after the full payment was due up to the morning of your cruise...that you were not able to make it you could get your cruise fare back...with out he insurance you'd be out the whole cruise price. The unexpected could happen at any time...from a death in the family...an illness or even a broken bone...you never know..

rsjj-- about Travelex paying out on their claims...we have used them 2x (for both Disney cruises) this last time ds(5) got an ear infection and eye infection the day before we left so we had to take him to the cruise dr. Bill was $109 w/ meds ..cruise gave me all the docs to submit to get reimbursed ...I went to the travelex website filled out a brief form that I needed to submit a claim rec'd an email a day later w/ detailed instructions sent the necessary paperwork (claim form and bill) and rec'd a check for $109 about 2-3 weeks later!

Had no problem whatsoever!
