We have always used Travel Guard through USAA for trip insurance. I booked our next cruise on October 8 and totally forgot to purchase insurance within 30 days.....I need pre existing medical coverage. It's been 32 days now. Ack!!!!!

Any other good Companies with a longer timeframe to purchase insurance with pre existing medical?

I'd suggest using the various travel insurance comparison sites. There you put in what you want covered, and they will find several policies for you to choose from. Just do a google search for "travel insurance comparison" and you'll find several sites.

I've never heard of a preexisting conditions clause that was longer than 30 days. I'm surprised to hear there's even one that long. Perhaps try calling and explaining the situation to them. Perhaps if you can get a letter from the dr that everything is presently okay they'll make an exception.

CSA Freestyle waives the pre-existing condition exclusion up until 24 hours after you pay in full. It is available from tripinsurance store.com. -- Suzanne

A few tips....
  • you don't plan to need coverage for trivial stuff, ask the for the highest deductable. You will see significant savings.
  • do you plan to be out of the country more than once a year? See if they have an annual plan.
