Trip insurance for DVC rental

Planning a family trip for fall 2022. I plan to rent DVC points for 2 BWV studios. I have rented points from the same person several times. I never thought about trip insurance for my WDW trips and I was lucky as I never needed it. But with the unknowns of Covid , and a personal health issue. I think it would be wise for me to get trip insurance. I have always purchased it thru a travel agent for other vacations as part of my package. Can I get travel insurance when I rent points?

I asked this question to a travel insurance company last year (don’t remember which one, may have been a rep from an insurance comparison site). I was told that you could buy travel insurance for a DVC rental. You would need to have a contract that specifies the costs and show proof of payment.

I was asking for someone that rented from me. They did not purchase travel insurance in the end.

The other piece is to make sure you know what things will and will not be covered in terms of Covid. Some policies will exclude that.

I do not get travel insurance other than when we cruise, and that was prior to all of this.
