First question...........What exactly does the trip insurance cover?
My BIL was wondering if it covers illness, trip cancellation, trip postponement, accidents, etc.

Second, does it matter where your kids sleep? I ask because we will be having at least three cabins. One for my two BILs, one for my two parents, and the third for the four in my family. Two kids. If one of them wanted to bunk down with gramma one night and the uncles on another night, is that allowed? Or do they need to be in the cabin they were booked in?

We got travel insurance through insuremytrip.com, and the one we picked covered everything you mentioned, plus medical evacuation and I don't remember what else. Whether you're buying the insurance through Disney or buying your own, read before you pay, to find out exactly what you'll be getting.

No one's going to check to see if you're sleeping in your assigned room at night. If you do this consistently, I would imagine it would be nice to add to the tip of the stateroom attendant who is doing extra work. I would also make sure you have enough life jackets in each room at night for the people who are sleeping there, unless your rooms are next to each other. Also, your keys will work only for your assigned room.

Yeah, no one will check if your child sleeps somewhere else one night. So no problem there.

insuremytrip.com is a great suggestion. Some cover everything mentioned, others less and some more. It all depends on what you want to spend and how much you want to have covered. Go with an independent source other than DCL ... better coverage less money and you cover air and stuff too not just cruise. Read each and see what fits you best, but it will cover everything including pre-existing conditions if you buy it in time.

Two cruises ago, we had family with us, and we had three cabins spread over two floors. My DGD and DN wanted to spend a night with us. We asked our room hostess if she would make up the couch for us for one night so that one girl could sleep at each end of it. She did, with no problem. It was great!
