Trip Insurance and DVC

You can't get DVC Insurance if you live in New Hampshire:confused3 and a couple of other states. I was told it had to do with our state laws, and New Hampshire will not allow DVC to sell the product to residents.

When they asked about the insurance they have now that is $79 for the year and covers all trips with points I asked about hurricane season and got a vague answer that that might be a different issue so didn't even consider it. I think in the past if weather cancelled planes etc. there were special treatment with regard to points but only MS can tell you for sure. We leave in 9 days and I am also a little concerned - only about getting there.
We have been at Disney during a hurricane and it was awesome. We could barely hear the wind in out villa at OKW but could see the bamboo bent almost to the ground. The power stayed on and the next morning everything was as usual at the parks. The only thing was for anyone at someplace like OKW with no hallways connecting to a food source you need to have food available because if you leave the villa to try to find some you will be told to return to your room and there is nothing open to get any. The roads around Orlando were also closed to all but emergency vehicles and people who absolutely had to be out to get to a job ie nurses, firefighters, police etc. We were in a 2BR and knowing the storm was coming got food ahead of time so were good to go for the duration. That was the year they had three storms in a couple of weeks and they actually came across Orlando which is not the ususal thing to have happen.
If you look for insurance be very clear about what they cover before you buy.
