I don't know what's got into me - We booked our trip about a month ago and I was SO excited. I made a few ADR's (was able to get 'Ohana's twice and Le Cellier lunch once) but other than that I just don't feel like planning out the trip. We're at the World from the 17th to the 27th of May, I have a quite a bit of planning to do. Has anyone ever felt like this before their trip to Disney?

yes...but I get over it & plan away;) But actually, we've been so many times in the last few years that it doesn't take much planning time for me. The only trips I really get serious planning time on is when we're taking someone who has not been there before so want to maximise the fun.

I'd say give it a few weeks, you'll probably gear up as it gets closer.

If you're not real picky about how much you get done & where you eat, I wouldn't worry about it. You should be OK with getting additional ADRs in the next month or two (we've gone several times during that part of May and the restaurants are not packed. If you book your favorites now, you can let it slide for awhile) Or just wing it when you get there. It's possible.

Well, you've got 2 great restaurants so far!:goodvibes Love Ohana and Le Cellier. I suppose you need to decide where and when you want to eat first. Do you normally do 3 sit down meals or are you more geared toward counter service? For our family, we love 3 sit down meals per day and plan it around which park we will be in. I'm sort of an over planner though so making all of our ADR's was exciting! Sad, right? But everyone is different, with different ideas about dining at Disney. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. Maybe poke around here on wdwinfo or allears.net to see the menus? Good luck!:goodvibes

I just don't micromanage my trip and it is much easier. I pick one or two restaurants I really want to eat at and make an ADR but the rest of the time I just eat when I am hungry. I can't imagine trying to determine when you'll be hungry and even where you will be when you do get hungry so far in advance.

I have found that unless you are going at a very busy time like 4th of July or Christmas you really don't need to micromanage your trip to the extent people do here much of the time.

i guess i've become a semi-pro for my trips with my fiance. we know when we leave from a trip where we want to eat next time, and i book it right away. i keep the same packing list and tweak it. i pack until 3am the night before we leave, etc etc.

my mom is going with me in march and planning for it is giving me a migrane. trying to make sure its food she likes, that we'll see everything, packing things i know she'll need but wont take, etc etc. ugh! i'm glad she's going with me... it'll be her first time since my 2000 dance team trip--and her first vacation since my dad has passed. i just want to make it special, but boy is planning more difficult!

Why not sit down with your mom in front of the computer and get her involved with some of the planning. Look over the menu's on say, allears, make some selections, then see what the people here had to say about them. Let her make some of the choices and get her involved. At very least it would take some of the pressure off of yourself (as well as leaving her the blame if she doesn't like something that she chose :thumbsup2). We went the first week of May this passed year and were still tweeking around our ADR's without an issue up until a day before we left. As long as you have the ADR's for your must do's and don't mind playing around with the rest, there is really no worry.

As for not being able to get excited for a trip, I am sometimes the same way. There are even times that at about the 115 day mark I get some sort of buyers remorse (for no real reason) and start to question booking the trip. It passes in a few days and I get back into it.

well we're 5 hours away from each other. :( she refuses to get a computer or learn what the internet is, lol. i guess i will print a few menus out and mail them to her. i'm trying to nail all the things i want to do during my wedding week so she can try them out beforehand.

I would just plan away.. Pick all the places that you think you will both like.. Don'yt overschedule yourselves.. I chose all my restaurants right at my 180 day mark and every day that I look at the them I second guess myself. I just cancelled one today and added one. I will tell you some good news.. There are still ALOT of ressies still available in May which is a huge PLUS..

I agree - I just added some ADR's for our May trip this morning and just about everything was available. :)

I wanted to add an 8:00 am breakfast one day and just about everything came up...Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, Tusker House, 1900 Park Fare, Ohana, Cape May...I was really shocked because I thought typically the early breakfasts book up quickly.

Sorry you couldn't get LeCellier. If it is any consolation, we had lunch there in Aug and it was terrible. I didn't even notice if it came up because we won't be going back! :)

We are going late May/early June and I cannot believe the ADR's still available. Basically Le Cellier and Ohana (except really late ADR's) are the only one's not available.

We decided to see if we could get a ressie for CRT breakfast at rope drop for the day we are leaving and this was well over a month past our 180 day and we were able to book an 805am adr. I can't believe I am seeing 805am openings for Crystal Palace and still seeing 830am+ openings for Tusker House.

I love booking 180 days out compared to 90. We were able to get everything we wanted within 5-10 minutes of when we wanted them!
