Trip for January - some hotels already sold out!

We are planning our 2nd trip (yay!) for late January 2015 (I know. It's early!). We are using 2014 pricing to know what to expect and so we can budget. We'd like to be there for my birthday on January 29th, split stay BC and ?

We'd like to arrive sometime around January 23rd and come home February 2nd.

Beach club is pretty much booked already with the exception of club level deluxe villa. I didnt anticipate for everything to be already booked in July for a late January stay. Room rates for 2014 were just released!

Is there something major going on end of January like a marathon or conference or competition? What am I missing? Will we have to book a room at rack rate for 2015 like 400 days out before the official pricing is released?

Good question... Deluxe studio at the villas is available... sleeps 4 though.

I've been a little worried myself. Everyone says that January is slow, but some of the lower (don't know if that's the right term) rooms are booked. I know I came across it more than once, but one that sticks out because I wanted to stay there is CR garden wing is booked the week we'll be there (MLK week).

Beach Club and Boardwalk are very popular resorts due to their close proximity (walking distance) to Epcot. It was explained to me by some owners that since January IS the slowest/cheapest time of year that the owners & others book the rooms at the villas fairly quickly. Made sense to me!

Beach Club is planning a major refurbishment beginning in January. They may have made some of their rooms unavailable because of it.

As with any hotel blocks of rooms are always held for several different reasons. Expected tours, expected upcoming promo's. Every room is not available at one time. When one block of rooms is selling good the they will release the next block. Its all in the marketing strategy.
