Trip Dilemma

I've posted before that I'm taking my best friend to Disneyland for the first time over spring break. A one day hopper is going to be a joint gift from myself and her boyfriend for Christmas, but I'm at a loss over which is better for her birthday. I had originally thought I would treat her to a character mean so that she could meet characters without having to wait in line, but now I'm thinking that adding a second day to the park hopper would cost about the same, and it would give us a second day in the parks during a really crowded time of the year. I booked one night of a hotel room, so we could go to the parks really early our first day, go to the hotel and then go back the next day. My second option is to book a character breakfast, probably Minnie, and treat her to that as her birthday present. I'm seriously at a loss for which might be the better gift. :confused3 I'm a Premium AP holder, so the decision doesn't influence what my ticket will cost, but which do you think would be better for a first time DL visitor? I'm leaning toward the second day at the parks and if she wants to have a character meal we can book that before she comes out, but I'd like the opinion of some other DL vets who have maybe taken others for the first time. Do you need the second day to see the parks thoroughly during spring break? Is the character meal worth giving up the second day? Thanks for any thoughts you might have. Either way I'm sure this trip will be amazing. :tink:

I'd vote for 2 days. I'm sure you could at least see most of the best parts in one day with a char. breakfast, but she would be pretty wiped at the end. If you do it in 2 days, you could linger a bit more and not be so under pressure to check things off the list. :)

i agree, 2nd day. I mean if you get character meal, it would HAVE to overlap with 1st day, which i think isnt really worth it. 2nd day would allow you to spend more time with your friend so you dont have to rush like crazy.

2 days definitely!! It also would give you a contingency plan if you are not able to do everything the first day, or a fireworks show gets cancelled, or any other unplanned thing comes up.

How fun to take a friend that has never experienced DL! Have a blast!:thumbsup2

I agree. 2 days is a must for the first time. We took our friend's husband for the first time. He only wanted to go for a day until he got there. He was bummed he didn't stay for two.

I would so go for the 2 days. that is the way to go. Lines are long on spring break so that would give you more time. one day is not enough at disney IMO
