I have a question about selling unused Disney world tickets that were purchased from undercover tourist.

I have two unused six day base tickets that I'd like to sell. We were parents in waiting for adoption and we were chosen to be parents to a newborn baby after only waiting 8 weeks, and with no notice. We are thrilled and delighted and blessed beyond words, but we also have $660+ worth of disney tickets!

We could use them for a future trip, but we'd much rather have the money right now. I've noticed that tickets sell on eBay all the time, so it certainly can be done. My concern is that we have linked these tickets to our magic bands through MDE. Is there a way to "unlink" them so that the buyer can link them to his or her account without any issues?

Call Undercover Tourist. If you did not take them out of the package you can return the tickets for a handling fee. I would personally call them. They have great customer service and I bet they would understand your situation.

Congratulations! You must be thrilled beyond words!

Unfortunately, once tickets are linked in MDE, they cannot be unlinked. At least, that's the story that the IT CMs and ticketing CMs will tell you. If you purchased them from Disney, you might get some help from someone higher up who will unlink the tickets and refund you money once they hear your story. But I wouldn't say anything about wanting to sell them on ebay. Disney may tolerate people doing this, but they will not sanction it.

ETA: I missed the part about you purchasing them from UT. UT has a return/restocking fee if the tickets have not been linked yet. You'll have to plead your case to Disney first and then see if UT will be willing to give you a refund for returning the tickets.

Well that's a real bummer about there being no way to unlink your tickets yourself. It seems to me that a whole lot of people would need to unlink tickets from their personal MDE accounts for reasons other than just re-selling them. I know undercover tourist will not refund them at this point. Maybe I'm better off hanging on to them until we take another trip. We are hoping to go spring of next year, and I'm sure the tickets will end up being more expensive then anyhow.

Congratulations and best wishes on your new little bundle of joy!!!

I would definitely save the tickets since you know you will be going again in the future.

I agree. Prices will only go up!

I'll third that statement! Prices seem to go up each year; so, if you decide to go back, you'll already have tickets and you'll have paid a lot less for them!

Congratulations on your little one! :goodvibes

The only reason that I can think of for un-linking a ticket which is attached to your profile would be to pass that ticket on to someone else who is not a part of your profile. It could be just because you want to gift it to a friend or family member. Or it could be because you want to sell it to someone. Otherwise, there's no harm done by keeping the ticket linked in your account. You are always able to re-assign the ticket to someone else on your account profile as long as that ticket is unused.

I think that just hanging on to them for next year is a good idea. Ticket prices increase annually (or even more frequently than that!), so you will save a little on your next trip.

From the way it was explained to me unused new tickets can moved to another person or taken off you account. Tickets that have been used in the past cannot be moved or removed from your account. I have multiple non expire multi day tickets (park hopper, non park hopper...) one of which was purchased this year so the reason for my question to Disney and answer... as well as other info when you have more than one ticket that is more of pain then it is worth when linking to magic bands...
