Trip and Tour Question

My wife and I will be in Orlando from April 25th to 29th. We will start our WDW visits on the 26th. And visit parks on the 26th, 27th, and 28th, as we fly out early on the 29th. I want to schedule a DVC Tour, a) do I just do that when I am there and see a booth. b) when is the best time to do it, Monday???

Also, if you had 3 days at WDW and no park hopper, how would you spend them?

You can go to any DVC Kiosk and ask to take a tour. They will schedule it for when it is most convient for you where they have availability. If you are staying on they will pick you up any where on property that you wish and also drop you off anywhere on property. I was picked up at my hotel and dropped at the Animal Kingdom afterward.

If I had to pick 3 parks, I would choose MK, Epcot and HS. They offer the most variety in types of attractions, IMO. Shows and rides and a lot of variety for meals.

Animal Kingdom is very nice but we never need an entire day there to see and do things so it would be my first choice as the one to skip.

For the DVC tour, if you're staying on property, there is a "dvc" button on your phone. You can press it at any time and schedule your appointment. We called it on our last day there, and was able to get in to see someone at almost any time. They will come and pick you up where you're staying, and bring you back.

Personally, I would visit DVC on a day you don't go to the parks. That way, you're not wasting your park day talking to the sales folks.

If it were just DH and me, I would go to MK, Epcot and AK. If you do go to AK and like the Lion King, please don't miss that show. It is absolutely amazing. If you guys really like to ride rides, then I'd switch out Epcot or AK and go to HS. Epcot is my least favorite personally, but I know many feel that way about AK. Regardless of what you choose, you'll have a GREAT time!

Lastly, I was ready to buy, and DH was on the fence. If you do go down once a year (or more), and want to stay in deluxe accommodations (especially one and two bedrooms), it makes a lot of sense. Given the information, we sat down, crunched the numbers, and decided it was the right move for us. It's not right for everyone, but there has not been once ounce of regret since we purchased.

I think when she sees some of the models on the tour, it will help convince her. I have heard they are breathtaking!!!! Reading the boards and the excitement of everyone who have become members may also help (along with a piece of jewelry?)


I know that my DH and I LOVE the Contemporary and bought in to BLT because of it. We enjoy the nightly walks to/from the MK by ourselves. There is nothing like a warm summer night, strolling hand and hand over to MK. Our children are now older (DS20, DD16 and DD13) so we have the freedom to do this. With our busy lives, we don't get a lot of adult time so we really look forward to our trips to WDW.

And now, that we are DVC members--just joined last month--we are excited to know that we will be enjoying this for many years to come! Of course, it was ME who was so excited and lwanted in now so luckily, my DH realized that a happy me means a happy him!!!

Even my children are excited about the possibility of taking their families there some day (and of course, I have already decided that I will need to add on points over the next few years so I can have enough for them!!!).

Let her pick your home resort!

All kidding aside, do the tour at SSR so you can see SSR, AKV and BLT. She may fall in love with one, and then you're a shoe in. If you have a 1/2 day to spend, go to all of the resorts and take the tour at SSR. You can hit BCV and BWV at the Boardwalk, SSR and OKW are right beside each other, BLT and VWL are over by Magic Kingdom, and AKV is over by AK. Given your trip parameters, I would schedule a tour ahead of time so as to minimize the impact on your plans. IF you can get in on Sat early enough to do it then, all the better. Otherwise I would schedule as early or late as possible so you minimize the impact on your park time that day. Assuming you can't do arrival or departure day, I'd do Sunday all other things being equal so you can take advantage of any fast passes or other benefits they may give you.

I'm assuming you're already a member.

The models are not "sample rooms" for people to survey before a CRO stay, if that's what you're looking.

The models are open daily for 5:00-7:00 for members. There are folks there to answer GENERAL questions about the models for members (not really DVC specific questions for non-members).

The models are at the old theater/DVC Sales Center at SSR.
