Our trip coming up next month will be our last trip to DL for a few years.. We go 1-2 a year and so now its time for us to save for other vacation distinctions.. I know I know shame on me lol..
What is something we should for sure do with our two daugthers 4 and 10??Hidden secrets? Favorite Character Meal? Must eats?

Given that you've gone once or twice a year, I would assume you've probably hit most of the most popular snacks in the park...still these are my favorites:
  • Pineapple Dole Whip Float (Tiki Bar)
  • Nuttles (Candy Palace)
  • Mickey Beignets (Mint Julep Bar)
  • Peanut Butter Heaven (many of the candy shops)
  • Cupcakes at the Jolly Holiday
  • Popcorn

If you have the Disney secrets app you probably know this but it's one of my kids' favorites to show people for the first time....as you enter, about halfway down Main Street on the right there's an area that doesn't look like much is back there but there are doors that don't open but have names on them. Find the one for a dentist office, pull the handle and listen to the sounds from the patient upstairs. I can picture the location in my head but don't know the exact store it's near, sorry if my description doesn't make any sense :)

It's the area between the Market House (Starbucks) and the Clothier. You pass by the area on the way to the lockers (currently the home of First Aid, I think). You'll hear the sounds from the dentist's office, the piano player, and several others. I've never pulled on the door handles, but the sounds just played as part of the background.

Along the same lines, if you do the Sleeping Beauty walkthrough, it's worth tugging on the doors...one makes noise.

I would suggest you ask your two daughters, what things they would like to do, see, eat, etc at Disneyland and make a list from that. If you have gone and never eaten at a certain place/character meal because of the cost, do one, or more.

If your daughters love drawing, then plan on spending a good part of the afternoon each day when it is extremely warm in the Animation Academy building drawing characters.

Reserve seats for Fantasmic, say 'yes' when your girls ask you something at Disneyland instead of automatically 'no'.

Get photo pass plus and take as many pictures as possible and take as many pictures as possible with a camera.

Be in the moment when you are there. Make it a point to slow down and enjoy everything around you, especially your family. When they see you relax and a big smile on your face, they will too. Do not text or talk on your phone unless it is an emergency. Use your phone for photo taking/ restaurant menus, wait times only.

Get a treat and a spot and watch a parade and plan your next ride.

For your 4 year old I would do BBB and then do Ariel's grotto and go see all the princesses in the meet and greet. By the next time you go, she probably won't be into it anymore :-( If you go early in your trip, the hairdo will stay for a couple of days too! Let her wear princess dresses every day too. I'd also make sure to get in all fantasy land rides as by next time, she'll probably be outgrowing her love of them :-)

I agree on really slowing down and taking in the sights. My kids love all the shows (even Mr. Lincoln) plus shows change.
