We were scheduled for fly out of Newark at 5:50 p.m. The flight kept getting delayed and delayed and after it was delayed for 2 hours we knew we would never make the connection in Atlanta. That was when a torrential thunderstorm hit. That caused the flight to be cancelled. DS started crying because he was tired, frustrated and "really wanted to go to Disney World". DH called Delta and they got us on a flight at 7:00 a.m. the next morning out of Philadelphia into Melbourne.

Next, we took a taxi to the train station and took Amtrak to Philadelphia. I had to cancel my reservation at the airport Hyatt and the rental car at orlando. Then we had to find a room in Philadelphia (which was no easy task because all their flights were cancelled too). So instead of getting to Orlando at 11:00 p.m. Friday night we didn't get their until 1:30 p.m. Saturday. We missed seeing our High School band perform at the Magic Kingdom (which was one of the reasons we were going).

After we arrived we headed to the Magic Kingdom because I promised DS he could see Share a Dream Come True parade at 3:00. After that we headed to Epcot for me (I got to see Davy Jones).

The next day I had made dinner reservations at Rose and Crown so we could see Illuminations. It was great. We got a seat on the patio and it was a perfect spot for viewing. DH had gotten fast passes for Test Track at 7:15 and our dinner reservations were for 7:30. We asked the CM at Test Track if we could make it in time and he said no way. He was nice enough to give us a return pass to go right in and not wait until 7:15.

When we went to the Animal Kingdom we got there early and did Kilimanjaro Safari first off with no wait. Then went to the rapids and rode twice in a row because there was no line. DS and I also saw It's Tough to be a Bug for the first time (he didn't like the spiders).

On our last day there we went to Universal Studios and DS rode a lot of the rides he's never been on (King Kong, Twister and Terminator).

Then it was time to leave. The flight to Atlanta was fine. But once again, trying to get to Newark from Atlanta was a struggle. First the plane was delayed because of weather in Newark (again). Then they found a hydrolic leak in one of the engines and that had to be repaired. We were about 2 hours late getting home.

I really love Florida and Disney but I wish there were an easier way getting there without having to fly.

I'll add more later when I have a chance.
